Birchwood 22 Cabin Cruiser - Still In Original Gel Coat

Selling our Birchwood 22 due to moving house. SHe's been an amazing family boat. Still in its original gel coat (not painted apart from blue areas) we purchased her from Windsor Racecourse Marina in Autumn of 2010. She's been looked after; not perfect but then no boat is, especially made in the late 1970s. Boat safety expires feb 2022, was ashore a month or so ago and antifouled plus new anodes.

Volvo AQ15 and volvo leg Meths stove, so no worries about gas bottles and gas safety. I’ve had this done by the marina every couple of years since I bought her Includes mooring at Bourne End marina until end September. Re mooring, I will not need it for my new boat so I am presuming it’s transferable. I can investigate if of interest. Leg was last serviced two years ago.

I’ve had it done four or five times since I bought her. Also changed to electronic ignition so no need to worry about points and such. Faults? None really bearing in mind her age. The horn is not working but I’m including a new fancy chrome one for fitting by buyer. The radio needs an aerial but reception on the river is not great so I use it with and iPad or Bluetooth and my phone for digital radio.

She has three batteries and a fancy Sterling Power voltage lift charger There is a teak swim platform onboard that drops into the frame; I made it removable to stop the coots/ducks nesting on it. Water tank and filter replaced, pump is recent, brand new Thetford 0402210N Porta Potti 565P Excellence portable toilet. Prop replaced about five years ago. Sometimes she leaks a little around the windows with heavy rain but they all do that. If someone wanted to attack the windows with a silicon gun they could probably sort it.

The headlining has been replaced and this could be extended into the bow if someone wanted to. There is a little spare headline stowed on bard. It has a blue summer canopy (fabric, cost a fortune) and ivory vinyl winter canopy too. I think I still have the original cabin table and support; will fit it if I do. She has a massive petrol tank; will go all the way to lechlade and back workout refuelling.

Handy as there is now no petrol available upstream of Henley. I'll include an (empty!) 20litre metal jerry can. She's probably got £60 worth of petrol in her right now. I made the hard-canopy hand grips removable so she can go under Osney bridge (carefully!) Almost all the fenders are less than 18 months old. Please no timewasters.
