Blue Water Trimaran - Project

*I am selling for a friend due to a bereavement* Custom built blue water cruiser Trimaran with an extensive track record. This vessel was built by my friend’s designer father in the mid-1980s during which time he was in correspondence sharing ideas with other builders including Tony Bullimore. The vessel has an impressive track record having completed a singlehanded Atlantic crossing and until recently being extensively cruised around the Iberian Peninsula. The vessel has been laid up for 2 years following its return trip across Biscay back home to West Wales. She is constructed from a GRP foam sandwich with a two-part international paint finish.

The hull and out riggers are in good shape but some minor may be repairs needed. Dimensions: 40ft in length, 28ft width, 4ft draft Other than personal items no equipment has been removed from the vessel since it’s return. This includes running rigging, ground tackle including a large Rochna pattern anchor, and a storm parachute anchor. The vessel is equipped with a full suite of sales including storm sails. Project work required: The vessel has a very much bare bones accommodation which will require updating for modern standards.

The vessel requires the electrical system and wiring to be upgraded including batteries. The 20hp Beta inboard engine requires recommissioning and the fuel tank flushing. The engine turns over and is not seized. There is an outboard well that will accommodate an outboard and this arrangement was originally used. Due to the length of time laid up, the vessel now requires cosmetic work inside and out.
