Relished due to a discrepancy with a sale. Since putting the boat on classifieds board I’ve been plagued with scammers and the like. I’ve dropped the price a bit and I am open to sensible offers. Don’t bother contacting me if you’ve only been an classifieds board member for 20 minutes or so, want me to contact you through a hastily set up email address, want to pay via PayPal for security reasons and then send me a fake PayPal email saying payment is suspended ending me paying out for the shipping fees. I didn’t come down with the last shower and those that have tried it on have had their details forwarded to the appropriate agency. Oyster 16ft purpose built fishing / Day boat. Recently antifouled and generally tidied up and laying ashore at Shoeburyness, Essex. Reliable and economical inboard diesel engine.
Not a speedboat but will potter along happily all day. Fuel tank attached to engine to provide fool-proof gravity feeding to pump. Engine has a dynastart fited for easy starting but it can be manually started on a pull cord. Comes complete with Anchor and rope, boat hook and a small auxiliary Seagull outboard. I’ve never needed to use the outboard but it’s there for peace of mind.
I recently gave it a run and it pushed the boat along without missing a beat. I also have a complete and working identical engine and gearbox that will be included in the sale. This one needs an adjustment to the governor, but I have had it running in my garage. Good bits. Generally tidy condition.No known faults.Comes as a complete package with spares.Simple to handle and maintain.
Bad bits. It’s a fishing boat and not a posh cruiser. The tidy condition is relative to its use. There is always something that can be fiddled with or improved according to the owners whims. As said, it’s a tidy and useable boat as it is.
A lift onto buyers transport can be arranged. I’ve owned the boat for the past 7 years and had no problems with it. I’ve taken it out of the water each winter for general maintenance, but it needs minimal owner input apart from the usual antifouling and engine servicing. The reason for selling is the purchase of a larger craft to accommodate a fishing-mad grandson. The boat is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to remove this advert should a sale be agreed.
