Description:
Welcome to the sale of my Buckler MkII 24ft twin masted ketch motorsailer. These 24ft boats are known as pocket pirate ships on account of their galleon resemblance.I bought it as a project to enjoy with my children, but I simply don't have the time to undertake it, so I am reluctantly selling it as a project with the additional bits I bought for it. It's a center cockpit boat with 2 berth front cabin and 3+ berth large rear cabin, so could potentially accommodate a family of five.It has a diesel mikuni heater, which blows hot air heating to both cabins which runs on diesel, making it very cosy and economical to heat.It has a gas cooker with 2 burners oven and grill, alongside cold running water and a sink.It has a large porta potti style toilet in its own toilet room (rare to find boats of this size with dedicated toilet rooms)It’s equipped with 12 volt lighting and sockets and has a 750 watt inverter to run 240 volt appliances or for charging things. It has a 16 hp tohatsu outboard engine in a well in the cockpit which is a 2 stroke pull start with remotes. However I also bought an old Vetus M205 13HP Marine Diesel Engine, complete and with electrical panel, harness and Hurth gearbox, so as to be able to restore the original propulsion method and then relocate the tohatsu to the engine bracket at the stern. When I bought the Vertus engine, I was told it did not run correctly and i'm not entirely sure what the issue is, as I haven't had time to tinker with it, so I am just including it with the project boat.It has four sails, two of which are well reefed, so easy to manage. It also has a fixed cast iron keel.It has stainless steel guards on the bow and stern, a large safe cockpit for kids, so will be good fun for all the family. There’s also a reasonable anchor and 100ft chain.A great boat for coastal use, with a 3ft 6in draught, it can also be used in rivers as well. I also bought a couple of Vetus escape and ventilation hatches, which will come with the boat also. This is a project boat, which has sat for some time, the wooden flip top locker covers in the cockpit have deteriorated and will need replacing, both the cabins will need cleaning with new foam and upholstery, along with the whole boat needing tidying up generally and bringing back to life. Again a great little project for someone who wants a small trailerable boat to have fun with and has the time for a project boat. It’s currently up on boat stands on the hard (does not come with a trailer), so any buyer will need to arrange collection and transportation, however if someone is interested I would be happy to transfer it’s storage spot (£90 monthly) over to the new owner at one of the southeast's nicest small marinas. Thank you.
