C Kip 40 Motor Cruiser.

C Kip 40 Trawler Yacht with twin Ford Lehman 120hp engines. (3500hrs approx) This boat is fully working and currently used as a very comfortable liveaboard but also cruised regularly. She can potentially sleep 6 with a V berth forward, saloon convertible to double and full size double bed aft. She is warm and cosy with her eberspacher hydronic central heating system providing heat through radiators as well as domestic hot water. She is no static houseboat and is equally suited as a family cruiser.

We have cruised her regularly over the last 9 years and she happily crossed the channel in sept 2017. We are selling as we are moving to a sail boat in preparation for cruising further afield in retirement.The boat does require some cosmetic work to bring her back to her full glory but she is ready to cruise or liveaboard as she is. I have carried out some alterations which make her much more comfortable ie full walk around double bed and large hanging space in the aft cabin but i’ve not been so good at some of the finishing touches and that’s what she needs now, which is reflected in the price. She is mechanically sound and can and does put to sea at any time. She’s recently had 2 new 220ah batteries, new modern anchor and chain and a new fuel tank on the starboard side.

She burns around 20ltrs per hour cruising at 8 knots which makes her quite economical in boat terms.She will require a new owner who is practically minded because, as with any boat this age, there will always be things to fix and improve. She has teak decking on the main deck but on the middle and flybridge decks the teak has been removed as it was a source of leaks. The decks have been made watertight but again will need fairing any finishing with deck paint or whatever someone chooses.Whilst you may want your own survey the boat does have a valid survey from 2015 for insurance purposes if you prefer to make your own judgement.This boat has served us very well and we will be sad to see her go but she will make a great cruiser or liveaboard for someone. Yes there is work to do and some of my projects to finish but she is a living boat, up and running and ready to go to sea tomorrow. Any questions please fire away.
