Camper Nicholson 38 Sailing Yacht

Hi, For sale is my Nicholson 38, "Mary Kate of Arun". These are extremely solid, capable cruising yachts. This one in-particular has crossed the Atlantic in the Observer singlehanded transatlantic race (OSTAR) in 1972, see pic. She has been lived aboard and sailed extensively through the med by the previous owners since 1988 and as such is packed with gear and been well looked after. There is everything you would expect to find on a yacht this size including an array of tools and spares, sails (main, roller genoa, spinnaker, and storm sail), liferaft, two dinghies and an outboard, parachute sea anchor, various ground anchors and chain, chart plotter, gps, other nav equipment, loads of charts and pilot books, fridge, oven, pans, diesel heater, literally everything, there's even a singer sowing machine.Whilst I have owned her I have performed a major engine service including new heater plugs and relays, and had the injectors refurbished making the engine run and start very well.

I have also fitted an electric anchor winch with dedicated battery, more solar panels, new wind/spray screen and new thrust bearing. She is however an old girl and in need of general tidying and tlc, some instruments are also old and could be updated, the radar and navtex need looking at possibly not working, the rear clear panel on the spray hood is perished and needs repairing, the anchor winch mount needs replacing as the ply I mounted it on was not marine grade, the chain locker needs sorting so the chain returns satisfactorily (it currently forms a pyramid and blocks the shoot), the airies wind vane needs cleaning/freeing up as it is stiff but moving, she will need re-antifouling and the exterior woodwork needs re-varnishing. There will undoubtedly be other small jobs to do but that's the main list. Currently lying in Lefkada Greece she requires new owners to give her the time and tlc she deserves, due to work commitments I have not been able to use her as much as I would like and with a new baby on the way its time to let someone else enjoy her and bring her back to her former glory. She is currently afloat and could be lived on, as is, or moved and sailed elsewhere whilst you do any work to her.She is priced to sell quickly with these repairs in mind and is the cheapest yacht of her type, size and quality you will find!
