Cheverton Champ Boat (6m Length) On Braked Road Trailer

Cheverton Champ BOAT (6m Length) on braked road trailer Construction - GRP Hull with aluminium console Cheverton Champ built in the 1980’s by Cheverton Workboats Ltd. Reportedly built for the MOD this boat has been built to a robust standard. Powered by a Perkins 4.236 diesel engine producing a 72hp fitted with a Borg Warner velvet drive gearbox. The engine has recently benefited (2017) from an overhaul. The injection system was refurbished, new alternator and new starter motor fitted.

The heat exchanger was replaced with a new Perkins 4.236 Bowman heat exchanger & exhaust manifold. Engine mounts were replaced with new. Stern gear is a 3 bladed bronze prop on stainless steel shaft. Stuffing boxes have been repacked. New flexible shaft coupler has been added.

Steering is hydraulic with new helm pump. 2017 the hull was taken back to gel coat. Boat was professionally painted. In 2017 the existing wooden console and engine box was replaced with a new aluminium centre console and engine box. Engine box sides can be removed individually for ease of access for engine maintenance.

Engine box is lined with sound insulation. Console is fitted with fuel gauge, volt meter, ammeter, rev gauge and oil pressure gauge. New 40 litre fuel tank. Auto bilge pumps fore and aft. Manual Whale bilge pump.

Braked road trailer was built in 2004, it is in good condition with very little use. Surveys were carried out on the boat in 1998 and again in 2009.
