Easier than an inflatable You do not need to lift and load in and out of the car, inflate, add floor, outboard, oars etc and then have to reverse this operation to pack away, as that's about 2 hours on the water wasted, just come in, attach to the towbar, close, add trailer board and drive off in 10 minutes. You can wheel it on & off slipways and ramps by hand. Fishing hooks & knives & scissors do not mix well with inflatables!!
Folds in half So you can store it in your garage, at the side of the house or wherever it can fit, easily, it will fit in a single garage or even a decent shed / outhouse / side passage / car-port. No... MOORING FEES, or STORAGE FEES, or TRAILER PARKING and no TRAILER THEFT! And no total theft of your entire outfit as it is in your garage, safe and secure. If you want to stop at services just add a security device to the hitch-lock or wheel and leave it attached. Easy to launch & recover 1.
Remove a pin 2. Push boat back to expose the stainless steel drawbar 3. Open the top, lift over and lock to the drawbar with a secure SS Pin 4. Wheel into the water (by hand or reverse in) 5. Remove the jockey wheel bracket 6.
Start outboard 7. Retract the wheels by one pull on the handle and your away (like an aircraft landing gear) 8. When you return just reverse the above Shallow Draft & Retractable Wheels Only needs 4 INCHES of water to float onto Safety 6 seperate air filled & sealed floatation chambers and the boat is double skinned fibreglass so it is virtually unsinkable, if you holed it then the other air chambers keep you afloat. Ready to use Nothing for the new owner to do, just attach, tow away and put in the water it is all ready to go as soon as Spring is on us, buy out of season for a bargain price? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Articles (the following does not need to be read but covers articles from reviews that you might find of interest First introduced at the 2009 Birmingham Boat Show, the EzyBoat is a versatile 4.4-metre fibreglass craft, which folds up to form its own fully integrated trailer, complete with wheels that retract into the hull when launched. That makes it easy to tow and convenient to store, as Ezyboat CEO, Sascha Giest, explains: “You can trail it, sail it or power it. When you’re ready to take it home, the EzyBoat folds to an overall length of just 2.5 metres. It can be stowed quite easily in your garage, generally leaving sufficient space for a car as well.” That means it also solves both the ‘where to park the trailer’ and the ‘where to store the boat’ problems.
Designed to accommodate anything up to a 25 hp outboard, it will perform very well with much smaller motors or electric outboards. There’s no need to remove the outboard for transport either, as the hinged transom allows the motor to fold easily inside the boat for convenient storage and security. And the boat’s innovative design also allows it to be sailed. An optional sailing-pack includes a mast and boom, mainsail and jib, centreboard, rudder and basic rigging - all designed for the novice sailor and all of which can be stored inside the folded craft. At around £10,000 as a ready-to-go package, it looks like a really ingenious route to trouble-free boating.
See EzyBoat for more information. Imagine a boat that you can use to sail, cruise, fish, and, if you have kids, maybe even tow a knee board. That’s a pretty versatile boat, right? Now imagine pulling the boat out of the water, folding it in half, and pulling it home on its own integrated trailer wheels? What?
That’s right - the EzyBoat comes to U.S. Shores from England with a versatile approach to spending time on the water. Key Characteristics At just over 14 feet in length, the EzyBoat provides a good-sized, stable platform for a variety of boating activities including powered cruising, sailing, and fishing. The midships hinge that allows it to fold also forms a thwart seat for rowing. And the eye-opener is that this boat includes a built-in, patented, road-legal trailer, so it goes from land to water in a snap.
When you want to go boating, extend the integrated trailer arm that acts as a longitudinal reinforcing bar to its full length, open the boat, and secure it to the bar. Then launch the boat, slip a lever into a centre slot, and retract the wheels up into the hull to reduce drag. When you’re ready to go home, just reverse the process. One adult should be able to launch and retrieve the Ezy-Boat alone in about five minutes – just stow and tow. There’s no separate trailer necessary, and you don’t need a large SUV to tow it -- just about any car will do.
When fitted with a 20-hp outboard (25 hp if it’s a smaller, older, 2 stroke model) the Ezy-Boat will plane at 12-14 mph with two people on board. It’s rated for up to four passengers, and its maximum speed is around 20 mph. The outboard doesn’t have to be removed for towing, and with a small trolling motor the Ezy-Boat makes a pretty good fishing craft, since it draws only four inches. A sailing kit is an option that includes a mast, boom, jib, and mainsail. All stow inside the folded boat.
A rudder is fitted on a board aft of the outboard so you can keep your auxiliary on for when the wind dies, and there’s even a keel that’s inserted into the hull to minimise leeway. The kit adds less than 20 pounds to the weight of the boat and consists of four pieces that are slotted together for a strong mast and two sections for the boom. It retails for £1.200 The Ezy-Boat is built using solid hand-laid up fibreglass, so it’s tough and able to withstand a few dings. The telescoping parts of the integrated trailer backbone are stainless steel to hold up in the marine environment, and there are a number of nice details included, like well-placed cleats and durable cushions. The galvanised wheels include sealed bearings and steel-belted radials, so the trailer components should last, especially if thoroughly rinsed off with fresh water after use.
For added buoyancy and safety, the Ezy-Boat has integrated flotation chambers in the hull sides. So, we know what it will do on the water, but here’s what the Ezy-Boat does well off the water. First of all, it comes up the ramp on its own wheels, so there’s no need to park a trailer somewhere while you’re out fishing. The towing rating on the integrated trailer structure is up to 100 km/h or about 62 mph Because the Ezy-Boat folds in half, it will take up very little space in your garage or driveway, so you won’t need to pay to store it. And because it clams together, it will carry around 400 pounds of extra gear, including lawn chairs, coolers, fishing rods, tents, and water toys that you won’t have to stuff in your car en route to your boating destination.
With its multipurpose positioning, the Ezy-Boat offers a lot of pros like those above, it is an easy, fun platform for people who want to do a little of everything, and it provides a family a one-size-fits-all way of enjoying boating in sheltered waters. And at a base price of £8,720 (boat only with no optional extras) it does that very well. The backbone of the trailer doubles as a reinforcement to prevent the boat from folding when in use. The company says it can cruise at about 14 mph with a 20 hp outboard. Top speed is about 23 to 24 mph.
It's rated for outboards up to 25 HP, but it can run with outboards as small as 2.5 HP. Another advantage of this boat is that a small car can tow it. Because your trailer travels with you, you can launch the boat from the beach or a boat ramp. Once the boat floats, you do something most boaters will never do: retract the trailer wheels up into the hull. (The hardware and handle to do this are built in.) If you don’t want an outboard, you also have your choice of sail (the company offers a complete optional sailing kit),or for a great workout, you can just row, row, row your boat.
When your trip is over just re-folded your Ezy-Boat and head for home. Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE
