Rare opportunity to own a beautiful classic yacht, a 'Wind Elf 25', full of charm and character from the drawing board of Alan Buchanan, the celebrated marine architect! It was a 'Wind Elf 25' that was once famed for crossing the Atlantic to Barbados. Recently benefitted from the installation of an excellent Yanmar 2GM20F 16hp Marine Diesel Engine. 'High Time' also offers potential buyers scope and opportunity to make further improvements as they may wish. The recent Survey Report finds the yacht to be in 'sound structural condition' and 'well worth any further restoration' projects. Recent 2016 restoration works included new tiller stem, new hull bolts, refastening and caulking the hull, new cockpit sole, repacking stern gland (bills available) with other works and TLC still in progress. Nevertheless, this yacht is fully operational and in good working order and sailed or motored regularly by the present owner.

Moored in and sailed from Birdham Marina, West Sussex. 3/4 Berths, LOA 7.7m, Beam 2.13m, Draft 1.37m. Fully equipped including gas cooker, marine toilet, auto/manual bilge pumps, compass, echo-sounder, VHF/DSC Radio, stereo radio, autopilot, two 12v batteries, suite of sails, lifebuoys, navigation lights, anchor, full length covers, two new mainsheet winches, fenders, warps. New wooden Mast 2012. Yacht previously benefitted from a major restoration in 2005 inc.

Keel bolts, as featured in 'Classic Boat' (Sept 2005/Copy available). Recently installed Yanmar 2GM20F 16hp Marine Diesel Engine. Similar Yacht seen in Boat Owner April 2017 (page 13). Mooring potentially available, subject negotiation. Priced for a quick sale for a limited period.

Wind Elf 25 Alan Buchanan you advertised for sale sailed and moored in Birdham Marina Sussex. is this tge Auxillary Bermudan Sloop either Riding Light or her sistership Blue Waves? I have the original Alan H Buchanan drawings no. 137 1-3 entitled High Time 4 1/2 Ton Aux Bermudan Sloop 19-25 feet built by W Wyatt of West Mersea Riding Light had sail no. 46 Y and orig launched April 1952 Blue Waves was bought by Sail Sanctuary charity in I think Falmouth Other articles include Classuc Boat 1997/02 page 38 and Boat Owner April 2017 page 13 and Classic Boat Sept 2005

She was indeed built by Wyatts of West Mersea and I have a large amount of history associated with her, including the original registration and some correspondence with Alan Buchanan including copy drawings. I am fixing up Riding Light at the momenthello jackie I am fixing up Riding Light at the moment here in Hamburg, she came over in the 1970s and has been sailing on the baltic and elbe ever since. After a few years in a shed, I am trying to repair things; keelbolts, plankholes, etc. If you had any original plans of her or her sister High Times I would greatly appreciate that. I am particularly interested in the wardrobe + 3 berth (dog house?) opposite the galley, on my boat this doesn't exist anymore , I suspect built out in the 70s. here in Hamburg, she came over in the 1970s and has been sailing on the baltic and elbe ever since.
