Classic Boat - Pearly Miss Aluminium Runabout - Speedboat Powerboat

Relisted due to a no show. A special 13ft Pearly Miss Mk1 aluminium runabout, dates to circa 1957, to early 58. Trailer included - no outboard motor. These boats were designed in USA by Duratech; based on their 13R model, and then marketed here under the Pearly Miss name, by Windboats of Wroxham. This one is a very early version with some differences in build, and layout, to the later Supersport version built up to 1965.
The boats were very popular with buyers and were available with different deck styles. The last iteration, the Mk3, was built and sold up to 1971. The boat was subject to an comprehensive bare shell restoration a few years ago, with the following work done:- - Plywood transom and seats remade. - Foredeck painted - replaces the original Dunlop Trakmark.- Glass Sunbeam Rapier screen. - New period cable drum, new stainless steel plastic-coated cables and new sheaves to replace the original worn items.
- Period Aqua Marine steering wheel and matching period 35mph Smiths speedometer. - Original deck hardware and period chrome on brass cleats.- Polyethylene swimming noodles replaced the original polystyrene foam bouyancy. - New 350 gallon per hour electric bilge and float switch, with back-up whale-type manual bilge pump - Seat tops were re-skinned with new aluminium. - Aluminium panel built-in under the splashwell, wiring for bilge pump, battery box mount and strap, and space for a small fuel tanks on either side. - Steering is drum and cable, sprung on one side & geared down for safety.- Seats 4 (2 x seat base flotation cushions supplied).- Ducks Back boat cover included.
- Original transom wood, plus wraparound windscreen and frame supplied (useful as patterns). - Single axle trailer included. Weight is 701kg gross, with 567kg carrying capacity. Correctly supported, bunked USA-made 2015 Karavan model (made for the Boston Whaler 13, so rare in UK and expensive new). Knott axle, folding Knott jockey wheel and Bradley 50mm hitch.
The trailer is far superior to any boat trailer made in the UK, and it tows beautifully. During the past 2 years, the boat has been used at CMBA rally venues around the country. The boat has a soft ride, handles well and can cope with a little chop. The bare weight of the boat is around 240lbs, so it can be launched and recovered single handedly. Easily towed with a small family saloon, and will fit in most garages.
Aluminium made, so means it's mostly maintenance free - the boat has never been polished. There is no outboard engine with the boat. The maximum hp rating by the factory is 40hp (short shaft / standard shaft, and would have been a 2-stroke). The boat has a speed rating of 34mph. Most owners use these boats on rivers, so 40hp is not recommended for slow use.
