This is a restoration project opportunity for a wooden Girl Pat class ketch motor sailor, built in 1947 by Morris of Gosport. The engine has been run today (Thurs 6th April 2017) by ourselves, and seems to run very well. We think the engine is a BMC 2.5 ltr diesel. There are at least 2 sails on board. There is evidence of relatively recent electrical work and wiring.
There are 2 berths in for forecastle, then to port there is a heads (toilet) space (no toilet present). To starboard there is a galley area (no galley equipment present). The main saloon has 2 more single settee berths. We do not have any detailed knowledge of the boat's history, and we are not experts in classic wooden boats so we cannot answer any questions about its condition and what work and investment will be required to restore her. It is strongly recommended that you come and look at the boat for yourself and/or engage the services of a marine surveyor prior to bidding.
The vessel in its current condition is described as not fit for purpose, and is sold as seen and as a restoration project. The boat is abandoned in our boatyard and we are selling it to recover outstanding berthing fees. The boat will be sold free from encumbrances. Viewing is available by prior appointment 7 days per week between 10am - 4pm. Location; Preston Marina, Lancashire (PR2 2YP).
Please phone 0phone prior to viewing. Viewing is via. Ladder access. No under 18's may view. Ensure care is taken and appropriate footwear is worn.
All bids are binding. The auction starts at 99p and there is no reserve price. There is no Buy It Now price. Payment in full must be made within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Title for the vessel will be transferred upon receipt of cleared funds.
We are prepared to include a period of 3 months hard-standing where she is now in our boatyard for a 50% discount off our published berthing tariff. To qualify for this discount a minimum berthing contract of 3 months must be taken and paid at the start of the contract. This works out at £237 inc VAT (equivalent of £79.20 per month for 3 months). If the vessel remains at Preston Marina after this 3 month period our prevailing published fees will apply. If no berthing option is taken the vessel must be removed in its entirety from Preston Marina at the owner's expense within 7 days of the completed sale.
The price to lift to suitable HGV transport is £192.93 inc VAT. No 3rd party lifting is permitted. We estimate the weight of the vessel to be in the region of 10-12 tons. A satisfactory survey from a qualified marine surveyor must be obtained by the owner before we will launch the vessel. Preston Marina - Telephone 0phone (10am - 5pm) or 0phone.
