It is with a huge amount of reluctance i am selling this boat as i cannot find a suitable mooring for her here where i live.If a mooring turns up she will be off the market so fast you would not believe.Chuckle is a classic British folkboat built in 1954 at Harry Feltham's yard in Portsmouth - sister ship to the very famous Jester. She is mahogany lapstrake on oak, copper fastened throughout. The cockpit is teak and iroko as is the cabin. Her deck is marine ply sheathed in glass and painted with anti slip paint. She's in excellent condition having been cherished throughout her life,undergone a refit in 2012 and has been well cared for since.
She was until very recently sailed on almost a daily basis and is well known in the area. Huge file of correspondence and invoices going right back into the 1950's. She's currently berthed at Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders and she can stay on her berth until the 25th April .Ill renew this until she sells if no berth can be found up in Fife ENGINE: Yanmar 1GM which starts first time even in the coldest weather. The head was rebuilt in 2012 and the exhaust elbow replaced. New control panel in 2016, new secondary filter housing in 2017 and a new fuel tank, primary filter and fuel lines in 2018.
The engine is of course serviced every year and comes complete with an array of spare parts. New starter and leisure battery in 2017 linked by VSR. SPARS: Wooden mast and boom. The mast was completely rebuilt in 2012 with all hardware regalvanised. Stainless steel standing rigging all replaced in 2012.
SAILS: Reefed main, gib, genoa, storm sail and spinnaker all in reasonable condition. ACCOMMODATION: New galley 2017 to port and chart table to starboard. Six foot berths either side of saloon which converts to a very big double with the back rest cushions which serve as infill. There are a further two berths forehead suitable for children only. A previous owner, his wife, two children and their large dog spent a month on her exploring the Scottish east coast!
Chuckle is fitted with sea cocks for a heads however a small charcoal heater. Has been fitted .Easily removed EQUIPMENT: Chuckle is fitted with VHF radio and NASA depth sounder. . Automatic and manual bilge pumps. Running lights. Two compasses - a modern bulkhead mounted and a vintage gimballed version.
