Classic Wooden Sailing Dinghy: Tideway 12ft Deluxe

For Sale is Noddy a 12 foot clinker built Mahogany on oak framed Tideway Deluxe gunter rig sailing dingy, made by L H Walker Limited of Leigh-on-Sea Essex. We have owed this boat for 5 years and have made many hours of fun motoring and sailing around Faversham’s estuaries in the summer days. The boat has been moored at a secure jetting but we sadly lost our place 8 weeks ago and it is also getting harder to get my sons interested in going out on Noddy. I have looked after Noddy well and she has been much loved and enjoyed but it is sadly time for Noddy to find a new owner. She is 60 years old roughly and is mahogany built on an oak frame.

The boat is complete and works well. Noddy will come with everything needed to sail her and drive her away; I have tried to list and photograph everything there is. The boat is in a good usable condition but there are things that need doing and I will list them. We bought the boat from the previous owner who was in his 80's who had owned Noddy for 30 years and didn't want to part with her but wasn’t using it and she had sat in his garage for 5 years. He said there is a leak in front of boat which there is but it isn’t bad and when using the boat I would bail her out every hour or so and there wasn't much water to bail out.

There are four floor panels that lift out in the bottom of the boat they are broken in places but they still work at distributing the weight evenly when in the boat. There are also a few of the oak ribs that are cracked but they have been that way since we have had the boat and haven’t caused any problems or worsened. I have sanded and varnished the boat and anti fouled the hull ready for the next owner. Noddy can be sailed, rowed or used with an outboard. Includes combi road trailer and launching trolley; there is a winch but two rows of cogs are missing but the winch is bolted on and can be replaced, oars, drop down outboard bracket, concrete mooring weight, folding anchor with line, two sails; main sail - a row of reefs hole were professionally added 2016 when the cover was made- and jib sail both in good usable condition, cloth kit bag for holding the sails and all the rigging for them.

There are only two sail battens as I lost one but they are not expensive to replace and can be bought on classifieds board. I had a made to measure canvas cover made at the beginning of 2016. The towing lights and registration board, rudder and tiller , mast and boom none of which i have managed to rub down and varnish sadly. Two old life jackets, two pine oars, three fenders, a mix of ropes, a mix of pulleys and different types of boat fittings.Please do have a look at the Tideway Owners Associations where you could track Noddy's history if you so wished.The boat is advertised else where so I may with draw it from this auction.The boat will be cash on collection or bank transfer that clears in my account before the boat is taken away.If you have questions or would like to arrange to see the boat please do message.Thank you for looking.
