Built in Snape Maltings in 1993 by Sean McMillan of McMillan Yachts International (before he set up as Spirit Yachts). Designed in the style of an Essex Smack of the 1890s, with influence from the Dutch "Botte". Topsides are of varnished Brazilian mahogany, with coachroof, deck and cockpit of mahogany in vertical planes and of teak in horizontal planes. Planned for versatility and short-handled sailing with 5 sails, she has travelled from her base in North Wales to Ireland, Brittany and the Mediterranean. 44'LOA, 31' on deck.
Draught 4'11" (long keel with cutout), beam 9'11". Heavy displacement - 6.7 tons fully loaded. Diesel engine (to be inspected for working order). Sails (area c.743sq ft) in cream. Forward, a spacious and airy V-berth for two, with heads and shower accessible from forward or aft leading to the main cabin, with berths on either side and an infill making a double to port.
Moving aft, a compact galley with space for fridge, cooker (2 burners, oven and grill) and 2 hand thrown basins and tiles designed for her. Full-sized chart table to starboard, designed for navigation in the roughest seas. Easy companionway with oilskin locker leads into the oval cockpit, dominated by a massive binnacle and mahogany wheel. Spacious lockers & lazarettes on either side, with a further locker under the helmsman's seat. Teak gratings on cockpit floor.
Sale is subject to your own inspection which can be arranged by contacting me. Regrettably she is out of the water and has suffered from some water ingress. She is therefore a project boat to make her seaworthy again and restore her to her former beauty. The current condition and all fixtures, fittings and equipment are subject to your own inspection. Based in North Wales for a viewing, the sails and cushions are safely stored North of Liverpool in dry storage.
Please only enquire if you are prepared to take on a project with likely some work required on the main body of the boat, electrics, engine and possibly other things. Whilst we have not had a formal quote for the works, she has been priced to reflect her current condition for a quick sale only and may well prove a good investment once brought up to scratch again. You will be responsible for collection of the boat and sails and cushions. Marina fees payable once you take ownership if you wish to leave her where she is, their details can be provided to make arrangements.
