'Anaconda'- A lovely Cobra 850 Yacht For Sale- I'm selling with great regret- but I have my eye on something different! I'll be sad to see her go. Cobra 850s are great boats- roomy, seaworthy and easy to handle. We have sailed her around the area as a family over the last two years and have had great fun. She sleeps 5- 2 in forepeak, 2 in cabin in double and 1 pilot birth.
She has a fin keel- incapsulated, so no keel bolts to worry about. Also has rudder on a skeg- so a bullet proof set up. Cobra 850's are seaworthy boats. I have a whole heap of paperwork with her- manuals etc.. Including the original order when she was made! She has been really well looked after over the years, receipts are there for most of the work over the years and manuals for all the kit.
Engine is a Beta 25 that was fitted in 2005 and runs like a dream, starts immediately every time and regularly serviced. Stainless tank (Out and inspected 2016). Unknown hours. She has had some major work done recently;•All 'upper' rigging renewed in 2016•New Stemhead in 2016•Rebuilt rudder in 2015•New guardwires 2015•Upper Shroud Chainplates strengthened 2016•Lazyjacks and stackpack fitted 2017•Hull polished 2017•New mast ring to run lines back•New set of second hand winches (two speed sheet and two speed halyard)New Electric bilge pump 2017•New propellor 2016•New anchor chain (30m) 2016•Gas safety check 2016 Some of the kit; •She has old but useable tillerpilot (Navico TP100)•Well Equipped galley.•Log and speed She requires minor TLC which I did not get around to this winter as she went in early! Mainly; •Some external woodwork needs a varnish•Electrics at base of mast need sorting out as bizarrely they were melted by oxidisation heat from a linseed oil rag!
All parts are there to do.•Gelcoat for above repair needs blending in•Spray hood needs some TLC as windows perished•Anchor hatch hinges need replacing (wind took it off!). There are probably some more minor issues- but nothing much as we use her all the time! She is certainly worth considering- many people looking for yachts will know the two key things are are decent standing rigging, and a decent engine. Anaconda has both of these done- so no major costs are coming along. A lot of yacht and kit for the money.
I had her surveyed in 2015 when I purchased- so I know she is in good condition! The insurance required the items flagged up to be addressed (Rudder rebuild, guard-wires replaced etc) Welcome to view her- she is on the hard at the moment near Torpoint. She is a sound boat, loads of work done and great fun to own. Happy to answer questions and open to sensible offers- please don't make silly ones! You are bidding to buy- not just look, so if you purchase it- it is yours and you need to pay!
