COLVIC-20 PART RESTORED NEEDS FINISHING Great winter project!! Now on trailer ready to goNOW UP FOR NO RESERVE AUCTION MUST GO With great regret up for sale is my much loved Classic Colvic 20 fishing-pleasure boat which I have been slowly restoring for over 3+ years, I started it 10 years to late in life and sadly ran out of time and energy and poor health is forcing me to admit I am never going to be able to finish it. It was in a sorry state when I got it (see link for pics) and I didn’t realize the work, time & money needed to properly sort it. Please understand this has had much love, sweat, and more than a few grand thrown at it, and has not been quickly just nailed together, I was so lucky to have the advice, guidance, and much needed hands on help of one of Plymouth's best boat builders for the first 12+ months without who It would not be about 75% completed, don’t get me wrong there is still plenty to do and lots will depend on your enthusiasm & D.I.Y skills to determine whether it ends up a 5 or 10 grand boat. I’ve done far too much to write it all down so please look at the photo’s on the LINK BELOW to judge the work already complete, and then give me a call, if it’s of interest to you, thanks Barry phone Main points done 1, Started with a full bead blast of the hull, 2, any hull repairs were properly carried out and the rudder & all keels removed and renewed, 3, the hull then was turned over sanded and re-coated with 7 coats of gel coat, It’s had first & second sanding but needs a fine sand and polish.
3, Turning it back over a new 19 mm external ply deck fitted, and fiber glassed in, 4, we fitted a new fore-deck, moved the gunwales forward 50 cm as I wanted more room on deck this meant a smaller cabin, but still big enough. 5, new Cabin, cabin bunks, deck bunks & helm box (seat) and kitchen area were made.6, New rudder and prop carrier cutlass bearing made and fitted, 7, I made new engine mounts and have dry fitted the I.8 BMC engine (NOT INCLUDED BUT AVAILABLE AT COST) into the boat and cut & aligned the prop shaft correctly. 8, I have made a purpose built twin wheel road trailer to carry it which has rear brakes new cables and alloy wheels, and is INCLUDED I also have all the stainless hinges and latches to finish and I’ve made cushions for the forward bunks head lining for the cabin, helm seat, portholes, fuel tank and more, all included. Checking my inventory it tells me I’ve spent just over £4000 to date, if you were to total the labor hours & storage cost then I know I am going to make a loss but it was started as a keeper not to sell so I am prepared to accept this. Now over 2000 viewed this as a classified add with more than 40 watching it but the bargain price of 3 grand (complete), didn't attract a buyer,YES I MUST BE MAD but I really need it gone as storage charges are due, So its up for auction you decide what is worth, highest bidder will own it NO RESERVE Please go to https://myalbum.com/album/eLJlzvXoW9d9 to view photos Call Barry on phone ThanksPREFER CASH ON COLLECTION FROM PLYMOUTH DEVON
