Featured Refinements: River Boat
Part exchange?...... We are now looking for a trailered day boat to seat 6/8 with canopy for (very) occasional overnights. A corsiva, admiral or similar is what we are after. Please let me know what you have! BSS until November 2022EA river license current for this year.
With all the work done and looking at the present market Musette is worth in excess of £10k and we will be looking at a part ex for less than this and are prepared to wait for the right buyer so please do not make any silly offers. With Musette you get wooden boat looks for far less hassle. Musette is much admired on the river and will provide great holiday trips, long and short. At 22' she is a relatively cheap option for mooring and river charges. As an ex motor sailer she is extremely stable, bilge keels, and robustly built. Two position helm - wheel house inside and rudder outside with engine controls easily switched between the two.Despite her size she fits in two 6'+ single berths in the bow and a double bed when the galley dining table is dropped down. She has a pumped toilet (head) with large holding tank.Galley has a gas rings and grill (with free kettle!) There is more storage than you could possibly need which includes many cupboards, full height hanging space, cutlery drawers, under bunk storage for bedding etc, large external storage lockers etc .....Large grey and fresh water tanks. The diesel tank cost us £40 to fill and took us all the way upstream from Windsor to Lechlade. Two batteries provide power for the engine and internal/external lights, USB port, radio etc.....Shore power provides 240v to the sockets around the boat.Technically she has ray-marine chart plotters, depth gauge, VHS radio, auto bilge, leisure battery with all necessary electrical switch gear.....Dual helm is fully operational. The engine is a highly economical Yan-mar (2QM15) 2 cylinder 15hp diesel.Originally built in 1986 she was brilliantly refitted internally by the previous owner (ex harbour master) over two years, finished in 2018. Over this winter and lockdown she has been anti fouled, polished and varnished and is now ready for fun.
Originally kept on the tidal Thames we moved her up to Lechlade when we moved home and now priorities have changed so time to pass her on. She can come with the present mooring which is around £100 p month in a great marina or I can deliver anywhere along the Thames once funds are cleared.
