Cracksman Mk2 6 Metre Cruising Catamaran

To all who were watching this last time, I was overwhelmed by an unexpected amount of interest so I took it off in order to be better prepared. The boat is near Lymington in the New Forest. I will be at the boat on saturday unless it is chucking it down for anyone who wants to view and will be able to add more pictures. Photo 1 is last year before the forestay broke. The rest are older.

This is a Newbridge Cracksman Mk2 6 metre cruising catamaran. Alledgedly sleeps 4, but their word against mine. 2 adults and two kids more realistic. These boats are very versatile, in fact they were marketed as being strong enough to stick a big engine on the back and tow a skier, a sort of forerunner to theMacgregor! Class_id=7405 I have owned her for 5 years. Sail number 201, one of the last built, in about 1991-2. Set up for single handing. Last year she escaped from her mooring in Poole harbour and sustained a little damage. I lost the forestay, furler, and a bit of rubbing strake.

No damage to the mast but one of the chainplate ubolts snapped. The boat is dry and sound. One of the windows is a bit crazed. All stainless rigging. I had stripped the inside to fit new carpet but never got round to it.

Still have the headlining. Never affected the sailing! All original gelcoat, and new cushions for inside. At one stage I had a 25hp outboard on the back which gave me 18 knots but a 7.5hp will push her along at up to 10. I have a mercury 7.5 blue band long shaft to go with.

(not included but 250 extra). Sails really well in any wind and certainly in Poole harbour you don't really notice the tide. With only 10 inches draft, you can go anywhere. Even onto the beach. The mast is on a tabernacle and I can raise and lower the mast and launch/retrieve the boat with only the assistance of my young grandson who is 12 now but has been doing it since he was 7!

The boat is on a custom tandem trailer with working brakes(not included about 650 extra) and is available to view near Lymington. No radio or electronics. I use a handheld radio and Wifish (not included) with Navionics Boating on an ipad. The way of the future! Everything you need to go sailing is there, just needs a little work to get going again.

Work required; 1 new chainplate u bolt (supplied). Easy job, I might fix it on Saturday if I get a minute. Bit of rubbing strake 3 feet long, or replace all. Antifouled last year but wouldnt hurt to do it again. Small repair to one of the locker lids where some idiot tried to break in.

Jet wash, a bit green from the winter. Includes reefing mainsail, hank on foresail and furling genoa. Hank on in really good condition, other two sails perfectly useable but getting on a bit. Genoa could do with a new UV strip. I think I have a spinnaker as well but no pole.

Also a new spinny halyard to thread through the mast. The sails and rigging are very similar to a newbridge venturer. Main 6.2 x 2.1 fully battened with 3 reefs. Genoa 8 x 3.6 with furler rope. I have a replacement furler as well which I will include.

Just needs the forestay making up to length. £15 joiner from Z spars. I was going to repair her for this year but have joined a sailing club and she is a bit too quick for them! If in flotilla on a cruise I would have to keep stopping for them to catch up, so I am going for a monohull. Better pictures on request.
