Cruising Houseboat, Sheffield Sized Humber Keel Barge, Historic Vessel

Built in 1925 by Joseph Scarr and Sons in Beverley, this Sheffield sized Humber Keel was a commercial vessel used to transport goods from the port of Hull inland until converted into a houseboat in the 1970's. The interior was entirely refitted in 2000, and has been updated again since then, with a new kitchen and change to the layout in the last few years. Large open plan lounge with wood burner, kitchen diner with full range of 240v appliances. Two double bedrooms, the master spanning the full width of the barge with windows and portholes to both sides. Additional room adjoining master bedroom, originally boatman's cabin.

Reliable water-cooled 4 cylinder Gardner engine. Last out of the water in 2016 for blacking, 8 new anodes, all rivets showing signs of becoming porous were capped with stitch welding, and over-plating was done where required. Boat safety also completed 2016. Listed on the National Register of Historic Vessels. Steering currently by tiller, wheel could be reinstated easily if required.Currently moored as a livaboard on a secure, quiet marina mooring with electricity, wifi, fuel etc available.

This mooring is transferable if required subject to marina approval. Excellent location, easy distance from the M62 and M18.
