Twin masted day sailer on trailer with choice of outboards. Based on Howard Chappel's "Sharpshooter" Chesapeake Bay design.2 sets of tan sails ( 2 mains, 2 mizzens). Sail covers for booms. Cuddy cover on frame with rear closure. Excellent for motoring or fishing.Full over boom camping covers for both cockpits in good condition recently waterproofed, can be used for wintering too with stub masts (plastic downpipes). These boats sail really well the masts are easily erected single handed with no stays or shrouds to worry about.
Just lift the mast and drop it into the socket.Beaching legs allow her to dry out level on a mooring although she will just lift on the tide if left without them.Self draining on a mooring but she is also fitted with manual and auto bilge pumps the auto charged by a solar panel via a charge controller with usb outlets and standard 12v outlet with voltage meter. Wind vane fits to forward mast.I have a choice of standard shaft Mariner 4hp 4 stroke, longshaft Honda BF5 and Seagull Century with recoil starter. The trailer is good for any journey and has a spare wheel. The brakes have been removed but if the outboard is carried in the car along with the anchor and some bits and pieces the all up weight is legal. New winch fitted.Excellent tan sails with slab reefing gear on the Z spar booms. You can sail and with the forward sail only but with one or two sails she with self steer.
There is a tillermate to lock the helm. There is inbuilt bouyancy and the ballasted keel makes her very stiff and stable to sail.Tacking just requires putting the helm over, no jib sheets etc to worry about. You can goosewing the missen on a run so it does not shade the main. The masts pivot and no stays to crash if you do gybe.Excellent motoring with a motor on the transom bracket or in the well or both. Leave the masts behind, rig the cuddy and you have a spacious fishing craftor family motorboat.Superior sailing characteristics and far heavier build quality to a Drascombe lugger with centre plate under deck giving far more space in the cockpits.Pull a rope to raise via the underdeck roller winch. The forward cockpit is 7ft long allowing a double berth under the camping cover. The rear cockpit allows diagonal sleeping for a 6 footer or a handy childs space.Fenders and anchor plus warps included. You only need your number plate to collect.
