Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
Hull identification number: DD16
Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE 16 feet long, 470 kg displacement, raising iron swing keel of 180kg. Minimum draft of 30cms. I have replaced the original Bermudan rig of aluminium mast/spars & sails with a gunter rig, with wooden mast /spars and reduced size sails, this enables trailer towing with all spars stowed & single handed rigging/mast stepping & more comfortable, safer single handed/ family sailing. The jib has a furler, the main has a single row of reefing points & the mizzen is reduced in size & clears the storage & use of outboard engine on the transom bracket. The mainsail gaff spar halyard leads into the cockpit by use of pulley block & jammer clutch secured to roof of cuddy.
The jib furler control line leads into the cockpit. The cuddy has water-tight bench lockers, a 12v lead acid battery kept fully charged by a 20 watt solar panel on roof of cuddy. A 12v usb & ‘cigar lighter’ sockets are in the cuddy. It is possible to sleep in the cuddy. Room for a porta potti.
A new stainless steel tabernacle was made & fitted in 2018. A Lowrance fish finder/depth guage/speed indicator is fitted in the cuddy. The swing keel has a pulley system to raise lower keel, operated from the cockpit. An automatic/manual 12v electric pump is fitted. The mainsail & jib are new.
A new foresail (not shown in photos) larger genoa type sail, is included. The mizzen was altered in 2019.The age of the boat is a bit of a guess, so please don't hold me to it being of 1980 vintage. There is a spare wooden mast, rudder, tiller & bowsprit. The Indespension trailer would cost over £2400 to buy new, & it is in 1st class condition. It has a rear swing cradle with rollers to enable easy, hassle free launching & recovery in shallow water.
I recently fitted side docking arms to trailer to help alignment & prevent tide/wind/waves from moving boat off the centre rollers when recovering on slipway. The trailer is braked & has a fresh water flushing system rigged up to connect a hose to flush out salt water from brakes should trailer be submerged in salt water. A spare wheel carrier & wheel is fitted to trailer. The boat has 2 covers, one is new & covers the cockpit when the mizzen mast is not erected, & an older one for use when the mizzen is stepped into place. Bottom of boat is antifouled with “eroding” antifoul paint.Included in the sale are:- 2x7 foot oars, fenders, plough anchor, flares (out of date), mooring warp, various ropes.
The honda outboard seen in the photos is not included in the sale. A genuine characterful day sailer that sails so easily & safely, accommodating a family for day sailing. It will be a real wrench to sell, but old physical injuries are telling now I'm of a certain senior age; single handed heaving & shoving to get it her back into her storage slot is taking me longer to recover.
