Dory? Pilot 460 And Mercury 40hp

Dory? Pilot 460 plus Mercury 40hp tilt assist outboard. Ex MOD.I bought the boat as a project completely untested, with the intentions of fixing her up but my plans I have unfortunately now changed.The boat.Pilot 460 15ft long.Needs a complete sand and repaint. Have the paint for this, white undercoat and top coat for top of boat and gray undercoat and dark blue top coat for hull.I have started sanding but just couldn't commit to it.The rear deck will need replacing at some point but is structurally sound there is just movement.Front anchor locker hatch is rotten and will need replacing with a plastic one due to this water has entered the cabin and started to rot the bulkhead between the cabin and the anchor locker so this will need removing or replacing.Windows will need replacing at some point but are all there.All electrics have been removed from cabin with just the main coming in from battery. I still have old switch panel.There is a marine nav and fish finder that powered up when turned on but untested and removed but can go with boat.The Engine,2002 Mercury 40hp tilt assist.Ex MOD.When I purchased the boat the engine was completely untested.
One of the fuel tanks was perished and the other is there but will need a different connection and cleaning outIt has electric start with new key which I have just purchased .So I had a marine mechanic out to try and start it using his fuel tank and master keys. There wasn't enough charge in the battery to turn the engine over so he used the built-in pull cord but it didn't want to start. So he took carbs apart which were fairly dirty and gave them a good clean and engine fired up he adjusted the mixing screw to get it running sweet. He has described the engine as very good with probably low hours he has advised me that the engine is worth £1500 alone .The hood has been repainted at some point maybe something to do with MOD and the locking mechanism removed and replaced with a lockable latch that will need replacing as not marine grade and has started to rust and deteriorate.The trailer,Galvanised bunk trailer.Pulled the boat back home about 3 miles with no issues. The bearings are quiet but I would suggest if going any great distance maybe replacing wheels and tyres to be safe.Will need a new jockey wheel and winch at some point but they are there.Sadly the owner passed away and the boat had been stood around for a good few years but will make a lovely boat with a bit of time put back into it but unfortunately I don't have this at the moment.Collection will be from EX8 post code area and viewing is most welcome.
Bring your own fuel tank/water muff's and we can start it lol but I do have video's of it running.Listed elsewhere.Thank for looking.
