REDUCED TO £70,000 must go Dutch barge for sale converted to a live aboard. It is a Deckschuit that was constructed in 1928 to transport light goods but it has had many alterations in more recent years to make it a live aboard. The barge is not like a typical Dutch barge and more like a cruiser as instead of small portholes it has large windows throughout and two large flat decks that are great to use leisurely during the summer months for lounging, BBQ’s and entertaining. The barge was originally brought from Amsterdam, Holland in 2007and has undergone some conversions since to include a second bedroom and to adapt it into a cruiser, with the plan of taking it down the canals of France; therefore we have converted gas central heating LPG gas and installed water tanks that can hold approximately a 1000 litres. We have also installed a woodburner to provide economical heating during the winter months.
The inside consists of a large wheelhouse on entrance that is nice to use as a conservatory or lounge. Downstairs into the large lounge that has a kitchen on the right with a small breakfast bar and open plan spacious lounge with a dining table and chairs and seating area. Step down to a small second bedroom on the right with a double bed and and storage shelves. Further down the hall is a shower room and WC and jacuzi bath that is fully tiled . Adjacent to this is a larger main bedroom to the front of the boat consisting of king size bed and chest of drawers with a separate storage area before the bulkhead.
The barge is 75 foot in length and 15 foot wide with a draft of around 3 feet so is easy to manoeuvre and spacious enough to be comfortable. It has a Volvo Penta engine of 120 HP. The boat has a hydraulic wheelhouse built for the canals of France that has now been fixed but could be changed back. It also has a feroli combi boiler and black water tank. The boat had a full survey by English surveyor and engine diagnostics checked when bought since it was take to dry dock last october for the hull checking and two coats of epoxy paint applied Currently moored in Gravesend at the Embankment marina .
Dutch Barge (Dekschuit) for sale. Built 1928 and formerly used in Holland to transport light goods before being converted to Houseboat. Not sure of year but approximately 20 years ago. The boat has a unique look on the outside. Different to a typical Dutch Barge more of a cruising vessel with two large sun decks and large windows throughout.
It also has areas at the bow and stern of the boat that can be used for BBQ’s or entertaining. Kitchen has island unit with breakfast bar, gas hob and electric oven and an integrated fridge freezer are installed. Split level from the living room there is a guestroom/storage room to the right.
