Dutch Barge Boat Project Length approx. 40ft Width approx. 9ftHeight from top to the bottom of the boat approx. 10ft This project was started in approximately February 2017. Unfortunately, this beautiful Dutch Barge Project has been aborted due to the breakdown of my relationship.
Currently in hard-standing at Springfield Marina East London. The Marina would like the boat removed after the sale, however it would be down to the new owner to negotiate this with the Marina. The new buyer will have to pay hardstanding fees starting from 1st November of approximately £380 per month until the boat is moved. The survey is available on request. Please send me a message with your email address and I will send it to you.As you can see in the pictures it has been completely over-plated.
A recent survey suggests that in its current condition it can only be used as a non-sailable craft i.e. It could be used as a houseboat. The new owner could remove and sell the BMC engine. The BMC engine was running however our welder burn a couple of engine hoses, which will need to be replace. The fuel tank has been removed from the boat as it was deemed too small at approximately 60 litres and the tank also has a leak. The fuel tank is still with the boat.
The boat has had extensive work to remove as much of the rust as possible. Red Oxide was applied to the top half of the boat inside and out. The undercoat has been applied so the outside of the boat is now ready for its topcoat. Dutch Barge grease has been applied to the inside floor. Inside the boat has been very well insulated and boarded out. There are no electrics, plumbing or water tanks inside the boat.
Via Nova will be sold with the following; 1. The windows which have been especially made for the boat which cost approximately £3000. 2. The top coat 3. Two-pack epoxy for the hull, which was ordered from SML Paints. 3. Everything that was taken off the boat during the renovation is on the boat i.e the wheel, drive chains, boat furniture etc. 4.
One new door has been made and is already on the boat and the other door still needs to be made. I have included some old picture so that potential buyers, can see the amount of work that has been put into the project. This boat will be sold as seen. As with all boats, it is highly recommended that a new buyer should get their own survey done. HERE ARE SOME ANSWERES TO QUESTION THAT HAVE BEEN SENT TO ME; Q; WHY HAS THE BOAT BEEN RE-LISTED?
A; The boat was sold on classifieds board about a week ago, unfortunately the buyer didn't have the funds to buy the boat. ------------------------------------------------------------------Q; WHY IS THE BOAT NOT FIT TO SAIL? Please send me a private message and I will send you the survey which was carried out 29th August 2018. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Q; WHY IS THERE NO REAR WINDOW? A; The reason there is no rear window is because the back of the boat was lifted to create more space in the wheel house.
We planned to cut an aperture at a later date and have a rear window made and fitted. I have included some old photos of the boat so that prospective buyer can see how the boat was altered. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Q; WHAT STEEL WAS PUT ON THE BOAT? A; Please send me a private message and I will send you the invoice for the steel. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Q; WHAT IS THE GROSS TONNAGE OF THE BOAT?
A: I believe that when the boat was moved by crane from one part of the marina to the other, it weighed in at just under 9 tons. --------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I HAVE RECEIVED SO MANY MESSAGES ABOUT MY BOAT THAT I AM STRUGGLING TO REPLY QUICKLY. MANY PEOPLE ARE ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS SO I KEEP UPDATING THIS POST WITH QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.
