The E-Boat Offshore One Design is a light displacement IOR mini-ton keel-boat with a lifting cast iron keel, designed in 1974 by Julian Everitt. This one was professionally built in about 1981 in GRP. I have owned her for almost 10 years. She is an old boat and the deck and interior look a bit tatty but she is a great sailing boat, lots of fun and ready to go. I have spent a lot of money on her and kept her in good working condition.
These boats sail fantastically well. If I hadn't bought a bigger boat I would be sailing her this season with no more than basic maintenance checks. She is nominally a four birth boat with two quarter births and the forepeak. All births are a good size for an adult but realistically she is comfortable for two people to sleep on, maybe three, with gear. She is a beamy boat and therefore quiet spacious for her length but head room is for sitting only.
See class association web site for more info: www.rlmr.co.uk/E-Boats Outline inventory is as follows:Tohatsu M8B 8HP Two Stroke outboard - runs and starts well always been reliable, serviced annually at home.Full suit of sails in usable to good but old condition: Main, No 1 Genoa, No 2 Genoa, No 3 Jib, storm jib, spinnaker.SBS R1600EL Roller Coaster Trailer - bearings and brake cables replaced about 3 years ago and never submerged (boat has always been launched with a crane though the trailer could be used).Copper coated in 2015 - excellent condition and I have found it a great alternative to annual antifouling.Topsides and grip sections of deck painted 2015 though both these could do with being done again. I have spare topside paint which I can supply with the boat. New spring loaded outboard motor bracket 2018.New Diablo mid ships mounted inboard 64 litre fuel tank with vent and deck filler - new 2018. This is large for the boat but the Tohatsu is thirsty compared to a diesel and this keeps it going all day without jerry cans.Navico TP100 tiller pilot (same as Simrad TP10) - good working order.NASA Clipper Wind - new 2012 I think (good condition)NASA Duet Log and Depth - new 2018Silva 100 Compass - good condition, no clouding.Dutton-Lainson Worm Drive Winch for lifting the keel. This is the first new thing I fitted,.
It's so much better then the original Turfer winch was used on these boats. I have 10m of brand new 6mm Dyneema ready to fit to the winch, I like to change it every few years. There are also fenders an anchor, battery and basically everything you'll need to go sailing. The forepeak cushions are missing and the main saloon cushions are very firm. I have new foam cut to size from Ikea mattresses that will go with the boat.
I also have fabric cut ready to make new cushion covers, so if you are handy with a sewing machine you could finish these off (or pay someone to do it).
