Ex Oil Rig Life Boat / live-aboard project for Sale Here we have a Watercraft enclosed lifeboat for sale! Originally on Port Vila, this is boat number 2 of three. At 8.5m x 3m it is a very spacious boat for its size with great head clearance (i’m 6’ 1’’ and have head space above me) I bought this 2 years ago and unfortunately due to other project commitments I don’t have the time to complete the conversion to a live aboard. (have a look at otterproduces.com as well as various other things!) I have done quite a lot of remedial work to the vessel getting her water ready, including repacking the stern gland, re mounting the rudder bar, capping of the inlet to the fire suppressant system through the hull, removing the rails on the hull (which would just collect lots of debris on inland waterways) it has also ,as you can see in the photo, been primed, also the bottom was fully antifouled but that was a year and a half ago.It has an working inboard ford sabre engine, although new batteries are probably required and unfortunately the back window needs replacing/repairing. There is still a fair amount of work to go with the final strip out of the floatation foam (this will increase the living space Massively), work to the doors and then fit out to your preferred living space; a great project and home for someone!

It is currently unlicensed and has no boat safety certificate as it’s still in the project point! As such though it will need to be moved (at buyer expense) from it’s current location, a boat yard on the River Thames in Reading. Im selling this at the price it cost me to give someone the same chance I had to get a cheap home but with the benefit of a good bit of remedial work having already happened Thank you for your interest and i look forward to passing on this great project to become a great home for someone :) P.s.
