Fairline Squadron 52 FlybridgeMotor Yacht Port Alcudia Mallorca 1/8 share available 6 weeks use per annum Blue Rush is based in Port Alcudia Mallorca, and a share has come up for sale The boat has been owned by a syndicate for many years, and running costs per member run at around £4,500 -5000 per annum. To charter a boat like this would cost you around £1500-2000 per day! The boat is maintained by the syndicate, and for each visit when you arrive the boat is cleaned internally/externally, beds made up with fresh linen, and it is all yours for that designated week. She has two heads, each with en suites with toilet/shower, so four can sleep in the two doubles, plus there is a crew cabin which can be used. Ideally the boat is comfy with just four onboard but more can be accommodated in the crew cabin.
There is a main saloon, galley kitchen with ceramic hob, microwave fridge with freezer box, dining area, aft deck seating with table, flybridge seating/table and electric bbq, sun bathing cushions to the front of the flybridge controls and two large sunbathing bow cushions. All cabins have air conditioning/heating. We have a flat screen tv, with a media player, radio, BOSE system and drinks fridge along with a cocktail cabinet. There is a generator to allow you to use electricity as normal when anchored/moored up. Most of us use Blue Rush for pottering around the island, finding tranquil bays to moor up and experience tranquility.
We have a jet rib so you can travel ashore or even water ski off it. It is a great base to explore the island whether you decide to sail to your destination, use a car or public transport. It just presents so many options and a different type of holiday experience. There is even a washing machine/drier on board. In order to sail Blue Rush you must have at least day skipper, then it is mandatory that you have a couple of days training with a local skipper.
Many of us have come from a sports boat background, and taken our day skipper and been trained on the boat to achieve the RYA ICC. This can be arranged again with local captains. Port Alcudia boasts many fine restaurants, all within minutes of the boat. There is a beach nearby to give alternative lazy day options, and you can dine at the Botel Alcudiamar which is just a couple of minutes away. Sometimes we decide to have breakfast there at only 9 euros each.
At the AGM we select weeks based on seniority, week 1 is chosen by everyone, we go round the table then return back to the first senior member to make choice of week number 2 and so on.Sometimes members cannot use chosen weeks and offer swaps. It works really well. Our AGM this year is on 24 November in Walsall which is centrally placed for our members, when allocated weeks for next year are arranged together with annual servicing and any work needed to be done over the winter time. The boat is lifted out each year, antifouled, painted, cutlass bearings and anodes/sea cocks changed.
