Fairline Vixen Mk2 Cabin Cruiser ..unused For 5 Years So Will Require Some Tlc

A Fairline Vixen Mk2 (ID Plate states 1980 so guess one of last made) Afloat on my own freshwater river Glen mooring at home address, Surfleet seas end Spalding Lincolnshire. Due to poor health no maintenance has been carry out for 5 years. Strong GRP Construction with no damage repairs! (Original finish gel coat it has not been painted) Its looking very sorry for its self now with grime & mould but traffic film remover and some elbow grease should clean down to the gel coat. The canopy and clear panels are in a good leak proof condition.The cockpit had 2 new seats fitted when last used.

The cabin has a V berth with a removable table. (Cushions have removed and dry stored) The water supply to the sink is not connected + the gas cooker was removed (Pipe work still in place to the gas bottle locker) The cabin floor is double skinned and above bilge level with good head height..There's about half an inch of rain water on the cabin floor which i suspect over 5 years has come through the window channels due to moss blocking the drain holes. The engine and outdrive condition is now unknown, Was ok last time used. The raw water side was drained + the engine sealed cooling has anti freeze. The engine bilge is dry!

Removable ingots of pig iron have been added for weight due to the rivers speed limit and the hull trying to plane. Any petrol in the tank will now be over 6 years of age. The batteries are dead and will be of no use. I had intended to convert to a diesel engine.I require the boat moving as soon as possible and not worked on here! There's a EA launching ramp about one & half miles up river (I have a key for) I suspect the boat will need towing there!
