Very Low Hours Only 2 Owners Current owner for over 20 years 60 M.P.H. 740 B.H.P. Price £25,000 o.n.o (would consider p/x sports or prestige car with a value up to £20,000) Fireball is a 38 foot / 11.5 metre Falcon Royale built by Benito powerboats of Poole in 1984. Fireball is the sister boat to “Miss Pearl Corder” that was second in the class 2 world offshore championship. The Hull was laid up by renowned hull producer Bondishell Hampshire who produced several race boats and the first years of Sunseeker production until selling out to Sunseeker.
Fireball was considered the best boat ever hand crafted by Benito and with the kind permission of the first owner Fireball was displayed at the Miami boat show before then being shipped for the new owner to the South of France where the boat spent the majority of its time with the first and second owners. During the six weeks Fireball was in America one of the US’s main monthly boat magazines “Boating” tested the boat and publishing a 6 page report with various colour photos. The magazine said the boat was a great blend of style, speed and good taste. Also stating the boat was trimmed like a Rolls Royce with the style and speed to please James Bond. The magazine also went on to explain that the boat handled very well in various sea conditions.
From our experience the boat has been a delight to use and more than satisfies the appetite for speed from what is a race bred hull and engines whilst more than coping with the varied seas of the south of France or the Solent. The quality of fit and finish of Fireball was of the finest quality as can be seen in many items including the wrap-around screen, the portholes, higher gauge stainless steel, etc. etc. These quality items were not used in the later production Falcon Royale’s as they were deemed too expensive but were used in Fireball “where a money was no object” attitude was initially adopted to the earlier boats to build a quality reputation. The cabin area is extremely sumptuous as befitting a boat of this quality. Mercruiser power trim and race style power trim flaps Power steering VDO Instruments302 Hours of use since new. The engines were rebuilt in 2009 but have only covered 2 hours each since as the boat has remained unused but well looked after. Fireball is in very good condition for what is a beautiful and powerful boat that looks like a classic offshore race style boat which has recently had many £thousands spent replacing ancillary parts, servicing and making sure the engines, power trim, power flaps, power steering and general electrics all work and run as they should. Also the original 6 wheel trailer is included with the sale. The brakes are not ceased on as the wheels run free but the air-brakes have not been checked over in recent times and may need some maintenance.
The only additional care that you will want to lavish on Fireball after purchase: Depth indicator and electric compass are outdated and no longer functioning. The boat would benefit from retro fitting a quality GPS instead of the two previous items and a new ship to shore vhf radio.
