If you would like to get into dinghy cruising with a few overnight stays on-board, look no further. This boat is perfect for exploring little coves and creeks which bigger boats can't reach. At the end of a days sail, you can drop anchor pop on the boom tent and put the kettle on and settle down for a night away from the crowds. At the front is a handy spray dodger/pram cover which can be pulled up in an instant to shelter from a shower and keep your baggage dry. The boom tent attaches to the front cover so that the whole inside of the boat can be used as a 16ft camping space. Specifications from the Falmouth Bass Boat association:The Falmouth Bass Boat is a traditional stable dayboat with the capacity to carry 5 adults.
Easily trailed and launched she handles and sails well and predictably and can confidently be sailed single-handed. Rigged as a gunter ketch she has an inboard, offset, mounting for an auxiliary outboard and watertight storage locker. The gunter rigged mainsail makes for a short mast which lies in the hull for trailing. The lifting rudder and centre board allow sailing in shallow water. In strong winds the mainsail can be reefed or dowsed completely allowing the boat to be sailed on jib and mizzen only.
Her strong bilge keels ensure she remains upright if kept on a drying mooring. The hull is made of hand laid GRP 6oz, doubled in way of keel. Internal mouldings are 4oz bonded to the hull and fitted with 700 lbs of monocellular foam buoyancy. She has oiled hardwood gunwales and Douglas fir spars. An optional PVC cuddy can be fitted.
The Falmouth Bass Boat qualifies for the CE mark, category 'C', having been tested and certified as meeting the standards set down for R.C.D. Buoyancy and stability tests. ? LOA 4.83m (15ft 10in)? LWL 3.96m (13ft 0in)? Beam 1.78m (5ft 10in)?

Manual bilge pump Accommodation A sleeping platform can be quickly made in the bow by repositioning the stern thwart. This provides generous space for a 6ft camping mat.In my case a second person always slept on the floorboards but a second platform could be created with some simple woodworking skills.
The flooring is lovely solid teak slats. These dry quickly and are lovely the stand on in bare feet. The bilge space below the floor is easily drained with the fixed manual bilge pump. There are dry lockers front and rear. Equipment Anchor with 5m chain 25m rode.
Mast-up cover. Old and faded but still waterproof. Used to store boat in garden year round. I use the old mast (provided) for this purpose and keep the new mast under cover. Sails are old but perfectly serviceable.Main mast was newly made about 5yrs ago using Douglas fir.Spars good but would benefit from a revarnish at the end of this year.Rigging good with some nice quality tackle.
Strong rowlocks for large oars. I have some 11ft oars available separately with which I have rowed the bass boat a mile or two at a time in calm weather. Shorter oars are only suitable for mooring manoeuvres in my opinion. EngineYamaha 4hp outboard. 2007 very lightly used.
Reliable starter. Built in tank gives 1hour at 3/4 throttle. Room for standard external 12l tank in rear locker. User manual and padded Yamaha carry bag. Road TrailerOriginal galvanised item designed for the Falmouth Bass Boat by Lizard Trailers.
Great strong condition regularly towed on 300 mile journeys. Recent new suspension units. Bearings good - fitted with bearing savers grease caps which allow pressurisation before immersion on launching. But I never intentionally immerse the hubs. Recent new tyres and spare wheel.
Unbraked due to weight under 750kg which saves a load of hassle. Light board
