For sale is my beloved Jala. A 22ft sailing boat which is a lot of fun and easy to sail. The Freedom 21 boats are fairly unique and built for racing and cruising with a shallow hull and a forward mast with a big boom and main sail. She is in great condition but be aware she was built in 1989 so there are dinks around the body where it’s been knocked over time (there is marine filler on board, I’ve just never got round to tidying that bit). She has a lot of extras and features including: Mains shore power and cable.
Large leisure battery, wired in with an optimate charger so will charge when plugged in but will never over charge. USB and 12v sockets Interior lights External cockpit blue spot lights (small but effective) 3.5hp Marina 4 Stroke Outboard 2 hob gas cooker sink with water pump fed from pre-filled water can Speedo Depth Gauge (there is an old sea farer unit working, but a brand new Clipper digital unit unfitted) AP Navigation unit (currently not linked to power so needs to be wired in) AP Auto Helm - working fine New lines last year all round, bar 3rd reef line. Electric coolbox / fridge Glasses, cutlery, plates, bowls, pans etc Ladder for stern Handheld hoover Digital Fish Finder (external hand held device) 5kg Bruce Anchor chain and rope (rope is as new and never used) access through deck pipe at bow 4 small fenders Camping Gas unit and setup Bilge Pump 4 sleeping bags and Pillows Plastic Camping Toilet 2 x Plug Sockets (for use when connected to shore power) Plus loads of spare lines (both new and used but in great nick, tools, fishing rods and reels, oars, re-uphostsred cushions throughout, forward blade sail with self tacking brace, tiller, spare anchor, disposable bbq’s For more info on these boats see www.freedom21.org I also have more photos and videos of the outside and inside to give you a completely view of her as of yesterday. She’s currently out of the water in Burnham on Crouch - she’s ready to sail but as she’s been out for about 10 months I’d suggest an application if anti foul paint (approx £180) and even though the engine starts fine, an oil change would probably be beneficial - it’s only done probably 30miles since being serviced two years ago. I need to sell her to support a new business venture and it’s truly with a heavy heart but I’ve not been able to have her in the water and I only got there to keep her clean these days.
The boat broken valued her at £4500, but their fees would be £1000. And giving that she needs anti-fouling and possibly an oil change I’m starting the bidding at £2000. Happy bidding and please let me know if you have any questions or would like to view. Hoping she goes to a good home and is enjoyed as she is built to do Dave
