Description: 

The Freedom 21 is great fun small yacht, very easy to sail and has a spinnaker to liven up an outing. I have had this boat about 3 years and I enjoyed every sail I had in her. I have decided to sell because increased work and family commitments prevent me from using her enough. She is a hell of a lot of fun for the money, this is the most value boat I have ever had as she won't command a massive outlay to purchase. I used to have a Drascombe that cost more and delivered less... you can own this boat for the price of a second hand dinghy.She is in not bad condition, the gel coat was professionally polished at vast cost at the end of last season.

I had the main sail cleaned and serviced a couple of years ago, but it does have some rust staining. All the warps, sheets and fenders are included. Admittedly, the interior is basic as I don't have a chemical loo or a stove - I used her mostly as a day sailer, but you could easily fit both for not much. She does have a 12v battery and a built in charger to power the LED cabin lights and the depth sounder.This Freedom 21 is sitting on a refurbished (this year), braked road trailer, all she needs is a coat of antifoul. The second to last picture is how she is currently sitting on the trailer, ready to be trailed away.

I have an old but serviceable Yamaha 4hp outboard that could be chucked in with the deal - subject to price and negotiation.I do expect prospective purchasers to come view and talk with me before I will take any bids seriously. Please do contact me for a chat, the boat is near Southampton.

I’d like to talk to you about buying you F21. I have sailed a twin lift keel F21 DAYDREAM at the Ullswater Yacht Club since 2005 but at 77 I’m finding crawling under the boat to antifoul since she lies so low on her trailer with keels down rather difficult and I have been looking for a Warwick Collins keel version for some time to make life easier. You can see the dozen or so technical articles on the F21 I have published by either going to www.freedomyachts.org and looking there or simply googling “wilf bishop freedom 21”. I am seriously interested in buying her and would be prepared to pay more than the £900 mentioned. I live in the Yorkshire Dales so it is a bit of a long trip down to meet you and take a look at the boat - but if she is still available I can do this. Please get back to me. Cheers Wilf Bishop. I will be down in Oxford for the weekend of 26/27 October for a family celebration and would be able to come down to meet you and take a look at the boat on the afternoon of Sunday 27th or anytime on Monday 28th. Hi - I’m in the Chichester/Southampton area during the period 14 &15 November. You said that you expected a prospective buyer to visit you, look over the boat and meet with you before.taking any bid seriously. Well if the boat is still for sale I’ll be available anytime on these two days. I’m a bit puzzled about the absence of any feedback or response from you on this matter - but as the most enthusiastic Freedom 21 owner in the Country who has contributed more content to the international Freedom 21 forums than anyone else my support for this class is beyond doubt and I seriously wish to replace my twin lift keel F21 with your Warwick-Collins fixed keel. However if the boat is no longer available there it is - but if if is for sale and if you want to encourage a serious buyer email me or phone me on 0***.

Just for interest - was this some kind of joke or was the boat actually ever for sale or sold? As seen from my above "one-way" correspondence with the seller who I emailed 5 times (this is the 6th message) with no response whatsoever. I guess I'll just continue to sail my twin lift-keel F21 on Lake Ullswater and just put-up with the hassle of inserting my 78 year old frame under the low-slung keels-up F21 hull for the annual antifouling - but I actually was really keen to buy this F21 because she sits so much higher on her road trailer which would make antifouling so much easier. Anyway maybe a Warwick Collins keel format F21 will turn up somewhere one of these days for sale by someone who responds to email enquiries?
