For Sale - Freeman 23 Cabin Cruiser (buyoys, ropes etc. Included) Year - 1973 Engine - WaterMota Sea Wolf (Legendary Ford Crossflow) with J-Type GearboxBoat Safety Certificate (Issued last year) Comes with mooring paid until June 2022 at Jones Boatyard, St Ives, Cambridgeshire. Overall, the boat is in good mechanical order, shown by extensive engine work that was carried out last year by well established boat yard (Photo 12). It will require some cosmetic attention to bring up to standard, but can be used as is. Not really a project, but also not completely finished.
Video running and sailing August 2021: https://streamable.com/eutivw ___________________________ Exterior: Some staining, would benefit really from a good scrub, 2 layers of blue antifoul done last year bu No major cracks or holes, and as you can see, completely river worthy. Windows all open and shut, need a good clean but all panes are solid. Canvas top has some greening, got life left in it, no rips or tears, plastic rear screen is fairly clear. Again, good canvas cleaner and scrub required. Interior: Standard varnished interior with no broken woodwork, cupboards and drawers all operable.
Wardrobe and toilet spaces, will come with brand new portapotty, never used. Cushions are very deep pile, completely redone upholstry no more than 3 years ago with very little use (as can be seen). Would benefit from a hoover and general clean. Needs curtains putting back up or taking down and re-doing with pelmets in some areas if wanted (probably best all removed and basic hanging line type curtains put up for less hastle). Some flaking paint where curtain fixing was above sink, needs painting.
Carpets were left over from another job and cut to size and simply laid on floor temporarily, easy to lay your own carpets using these as templates. Roof completely upholstered as can be seen with white letherette and wood fixings. Deck area is laid to laminate, some stains on white letherette which would benefit from a clean. No tears here or in deep pile deck bench in blue letherette and white piping. Mechanicals: As can be seen in photo 12, professional has been over the engine.
No expense spared here to ensure it ticks over and runs perfectly, all works done as advised by boatyard. Gearbox works as it should. Electrics have largely been stripped back to avoid drains, fires or other issues with the age of it, everything there to reconnect your own exterior lights but internally LED battery or strip would be better (never used the thing in the dark anyway). Boat is moored at Jones Boatyard which is open during businesses hours if you want to look at it externally, plot No. 22 Little Lady.
No external deals or offers outside of classifieds board, just pay at the end as required. This is my grandfathers boat which he is physically unable to operate or care for anymore on account he can no longer drive. I (grandson) have written the advert, he will answer questions if you send them to this account. Thanks for looking.
