Grab a bargain she has to go soon due to a change of life style so make me an offer i may even px or swap for a luxury flat on a Greek island you wont know till you ask all yard fees etc are payed up till the end of march and the yard are happy to re launch too so long as the boat is taken around that time "JORO" is a 30 foot 1949 wooden mahogany on oak frames twin screw Gentlemen's Yacht built in Fareham, Hampshire by Percy M See Ltd, with a beam of 10 feet. I have the original drawings, and blue book registration, and also manuals for the engines gear boxes plotter etc etc . Most of the original fittings remain eg bronze bollards portholes etc. She has recently had extensive work carried out, including new decks keel several planks on the starboard side being replaced ,and is currently being professionally re caulked and anti fouled ready to go back into the water . Due to a recent accident I cannot finish this amazing boat off.i will be very sorry to see her go as i have lived aboard her for the past 12 years now I am not sure of the condition of the 2 BMC 1500 Diesel engines as they have not been run for 4 years .both turn over and where very reliable in the years we went to sea ,cheep to run and easy to get parts for .( we ran the starboard engine a month ago it was reading 60 psi oil pressure.
I have the head off the port engine and am grinding the the valves in so hopefully this engine will be up and running soon )i have now purchased two very good engines complete with heat exchangers and one even has the gear box attached so is in theory ready to drop in It has an aft cabin with shower & full size double bed storage and tv . The wheelhouse is midships with a Furuno plotter & Radar etc, also auto helm, compass & fridge with a small freezer compartment . The Galley has a two ring cooker grill and oven. Hot & cold pressurised water currently disconnected while ashore , stainless steel sink with drainer . The Saloon is extremely cozey and a very nice place to sit and chill out with its varnished wood work and original fittings.
There is a beautiful fold up table & bench seating that converts to a bed,a tv and also sky light . The head is in the bow with an electric toilet currently disconnected due to being ashore. A small sink with pressurised hot and cold water ( currently disconnected ) two port holes and a hatch for ventilation . There is a Large electric winch on the bow & anchor with chain. This is just a brief description, there is much more to this beautiful classic boat & viewing is essential.
All the major work has now been done to a cost of 20k ,This is an on going project & all the major work has now been completed, but she will require more love & attention before going into the water .currently lying Noss marina Dartmouth this boat is under going the work needed to put her back in the water right now by a professional time served ship wright. She will still be sold as a ongoing project as she needs things like the hand rails bollards and other deck fittings re fitting ,if your good with diy there's nothing to hard left to do . Shes being re advertised due to a misunderstanding , hey ho these things happen .but as i just said if you dont mind a bit of diy then shes a bargain as she is now a very solid old boat and there are not many 40s style boats around i want a good home for her so viewing is essential.be warned tho you will fall in love with her!! .feel free to contact me for more detailed information or a good old look around ,shes under a scaffold which has a roof so any time any weather will be ok & thanks for looking, David phone
