Golden Hind By Maurice Grffiths 1965 Yacht

Welcome to the sale of Pescarus meaning Seabird an early Golden Hind model No 9 (28,6 feet) built by Hartwell boat builders with triple bilge keel,and designed by Maurice Griffiths.Plymouth in 1965 from Ply ect,would make a comfy Liveaboard and circumvented the globe in 1975 by a couple!!! Its a very solid boat,the bilge is very good condition.does not rock around when moving about and the decks ect are fibreglassed with no soft spots.I found only 1 area of the upper hull well above waterline which could use some fixing (easy job in my mind,and does not affect anything in practice imo) She is spacious inside and has not felt hot in summer.Has the usual room with toilet plus holding tank if needs.Refleks diesel heater,Bukh DV24 bullet proof engine,Plastimo gimbled yacht stove,foot pump tap,sink,and various navigation equipment already installed.The simple electrical wiring is looking pretty newish.Not really checked sails but they are there.Rigging,lines ect present but will all need to be checked and adjusted.I recommend going over the whole boat.Lots of small jobs to complete at your leisure.Pescarus is in an amazing position,moored in main marina Newhaven at very reasonable cost.about £56 weekly if paid annually.lovely and quiet,Simpson marine is a stones throw away and very well stocked chandlery.Selling due to havI guess 2 boats.Pescarus is rough and ready but solid,complete and very charming.Really a wood cabin feel.please view boat before making decision.Thanx.Phone Matt phone for more info**
