Halcyon Clipper 27 Sailing Yacht - 6 Berth - Yanmar Engine - Good Condition

Here we have our Halcyon clipper 27. She’s a 1970s model (not sure exact year), GRP single masted, fin keel sailing yacht. We bought her several months ago as a COVID lockdown project, but work sending me abroad shortly means we’re going to move her on. Prior to our ownership she was owned by a sailing organisation and professionally maintained. She had a comprehensive refit about ten years ago which involved the engine being removed and overhauled, new mast & boom, new standing rigging and a total rewire.

Since then she’s had various upgrades, including new stove/oven/grill around 2 years ago, new Garmin GPS (this still had the plastic wrapping on when we bought her), new Standard Horizon DSC VHF and various other small items. She was laid up around a year ago and not used since. We bought her and set about re-commissioning her earlier this year. This has included a deep clean, running up all the systems and repairing anything that was defective. We got around 75% of the way through this process, and whilst the majority of items are ready to use, there is still a little room for some weekend tinkering to get her 100% complete.

This is mostly cosmetic – there is some varnishing to be done, a small amount of painting, a few fittings that need to be replaced etc. We haven’t had her out of the water and there is a fair bit of fouling on the hull, but essentially she is all there and ready to use. We took her by sea from Portsmouth where we bought her to Southampton where she is now. Key features:· 1970s build - good condition for age· GRP construction (no visible osmosis or other notable damage)· Fin keel· 6 berths (2 in the forward cabin and 4 in the saloon – the two sofas cleverly convert into two bunk beds. Would be fine for small children, in reality this area would be fine for 2 teenagers/adults).· Separate heads compartment with recent Jabsco sea toilet, wash basin· Galley area with recent oven/stove/grill (gas bottle lives in dedicated locker in cockpit) sink with tap (there is a water tank in the bow fitted with automatic water pressure pump) and lots of storage· Cockpit with fairly recent spray hood, tiller steering, engine controls, display with depth readout and separate Garmin GPS (note the teak trim aft of the cockpit needs attention but this is purely cosmetic).

· Yanmar diesel inboard (2 cylinder 2QM20). Serviced and in good working order (we have had the injectors and fuel pump overhauled). · 10 year old mast and boom (aluminium, finished in black)· Diesel heating (very expensive unit, installed but needs fuel line and 12v feed installing)· Two suits of sails (jib, main + spinnaker)· Manual windlass· Jib furler The boat comes with assorted extras – some safety kit (fire extinguishers, horn, lifejackets etc), and various other bits and bobs. Pretty much everything you need to safety take her out for a day sail. As mentioned, there is a little work needed to bring her up to 100% but you could safety sail her as is, but of course like any boat you should fully inspect every item onboard and satisfy yourself with the condition and arrangement prior to setting sail.

She’s currently afloat near Southampton. I would ideally like to get her sold and handed over at some point this week or weekend as we will be away for a number of weeks next week. I'm very happy to conduct a short sea trial with the new owner, likewise I'll deliver her to any marina in Southampton Water or the river Hamble as part of the deal if required. She will need to be moved as soon as the new buyer takes ownership; she is currently in a commercial yard and needs to be removed asap. Private sale, boat is sold as seen, no returns.
