Half Price! Gibsea 90 1984 Sailing Boat Yacht

This is a genuine sale and an opportunity to get a very real bargain. I am moving abroad very, very soon and so need a quick sale. She is berthed at Chatham Marina (MDL). Ruby is a very competent sailing boat manufactured by Gibsea in France which was later bought by and became a part of Dufour Yachts. I purchased her in 2016 and have sailed her on a few occasions but sadly now need to sell her.

She had a survey in 2016 which I am happy to e-mail upon request. All work recommended in the survey took place. In addtion, I purchased sprayhood, and sailbag, added shore power, a new chartplotter, DSC marine radio, liferaft and two-man tender / inflatable dinghy + danbouy and new heads. The B&G Vulcan chartplotter can link via an app to an ipad or tablet, to project the charts onto the tablet which can be fixed if desired into the cockpit area. I also had a USB charge / power socket fitted so the tablet can receive as much power as possible when motoring and last whilst sailing.

The draft is 1.7metres, fin keel. There is everything you need to set sail on her! There are also lifejackets of the more modern slimline canister inflate-upon-water-contact-type. New freshwater bladder in 2016 fitted Ruby's transom has a removable section which creates rear access to water not too dissimilar to a swimming platform. She has an oven & grill, coolbox which requires ice and works surprisingly well over four days worth of sailing and an engine which starts first time.

She has 5 berths, a V at the front, two large singles in the dining area and a single skipper's bunk at the back. I have fixed rubber tailers to the winches and they work very well. All winches have been serviced. The running rigging was replaced in 2016 and there is a tiller-based Autopilot which works very well. Provided are wind speed indicator, depth gauge and speed gauges in the cockpit, along with a bulkhead compass.

Navigation lights were all tested and work. There is an unused set of flares onboard. What needs doing? Ruby needs lifting, her hull spraying down to remove growth and anti-fouling. The engine could do with a service.

One part of the headlinings needs re-fixing and some of the decals have been worn away in one area from rubbing against the lines attached to her berth in strong winter weather. Gauges could with being calibrated and sensors cleared. I would also recommend having the seal looked at where the prop shaft enters the hull. There is a slight leak here (quite common). Liferaft needs servicing.

I would anticipate that a spend of between £700 - £1,000, with someone else doing the work, would more than cover fixing these things and would be a small price to pay in order to purchase a great yacht at a great price. All could be done by professionals including lifting at Chatham marina. Her decks could do with a scrub and maybe polish. Gas to cooker seems intermittent at times. Ruby is a great first yacht and as the Survey summary said in 2016 'This vessel appears and represents a fair example of its type and model.

Provided all the recommendations in this report are carried out (which they were), and the vessel, machinery components, etc., are all serviced, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, then 'RUBY' can provide many years of satisfactory service'. I bought Ruby in 2016 for £11,000 (she was listed at £15,000). I then spent at least a further £5,000 much of it through the dealer - for them to recoup the difference, (please see photos for purchase and bulk items receipts). PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Ruby is a genuine 'quick' sale.

She was built in 1984 and so does not 'gleam' like a new yacht! This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a great boat for a great price. PLEASE, PLEASE NO TIMEWASTERS! I am proud of my classifieds board 100% rating and have been as honest as possible so that a purchaser will not be disappointed. The listing is for just over a week and keys and handover can only take place and must take place on Friday evening 10th August or anytime on Saturday 11th August.

As I am going abroad, I am restricted by any viewings as working, packing, etc. I realise this is not possibly helpful, but I have reflected this inconvenience in the price.
