Hardy 20 Motorsailer

THis sturdy 20ft motor sailer is one of the well known Hardy range of boats. Build No. 642 exceptionally strong and safe it has just undergone a full refit. An ideal boat for canal or coastal cruising the mast is designed to be lowered and raised easily The engine has been overhauled including new engine mounts (these alone cost £600) It has a very economical and reliable Yanmar 2GM20 16hp diesel. Ahough I don't know the age of the engine it is clearly a replacment engine.
I have attached a photo of it fully refurbished and running on the test bed. It will be fitted and tested in th boat before the sale. The interior has been completely relined and the electrics have been updated with an additional digital panel and LED lights also new starter battery and good 110ah leisure battery, new spot/deck light and horn. New 100 ltr flexible water tank. Fully automatic bilge pump.
The canopy is in fair condition and I have had the plastic windows renewed and had it reproofed with Febseal. Although I did not intend to use as a sailing boat, I have given the mast an overhaul. I have replaced some of the running rigging and the electric cable with a new anchor/sailing light and checked over all the fixed rigging and bottle screws. The mainsail and furling jib are in fair condition. I have just finished the antifouling The boat was originall intended for the Brittany canals but this is not now possible so it must be sold.
Overall the cost of the refit, including the engine and mounts comes to well over £3500. The boat is in my front garden and was delivered by low loader from Poole at a cost of £480 The purchasor will be responsible for moving the boat but I will help in any way I can. The boat will transport on a trailer but would need to be lifted on. I have set the starting price at well below the value for a fully renovated boat, as you can see if you look up these boats on line. This boat is ready to launch and be used immediately.
It sleeps two in the cabin and the cockpit seats also convert to a double by lowering the cockpit table. The cockpit cushions have new memory foam. I hope the photographs do it justice but any inspection is welcome and recommended. A perfect boat for canal or coastal cruising. There is still some very small cosmetic work but this is, as I hope you can see from the photos, ready to go.
