Heavenly twins catamaran I bought this a year a go as a project and I have not done much to it to be honest. The main reason being I live in Falmouth and the Catamaran is a few miles from Harlech in Wales. I have made a few trips up over the las year. My plan was to start doing more and was up last week. I have been looking at Telstar Trimarans which is what I want to be honest as I can trailer it and keep it on my driveway.
One has come up and if this sells I will buy it. If not I will finish this and let it go for £10,000. It has two Yanmar 1 GM engines, one is working and the other might be, I say might be as I hired someone to look at it, he changed the head gasket and fitted a new alternator, but on investigation of the fuel injector he thought there should be a seal in there, I ordered a new seal kit for it but have not fitted it or tried the engine. However the gasket was put on properly and torqued and compression seems to be ok. That little project cost me a few hundred.
I have also had a new fuel system made up for it I will add a picture. Things to do and there is many, front bulk heads need to be replaced, easy job over a weekend. There is a kitchen there made from hardwood but could do with a spruce up, there is a gas hob. The walls under mast could do with ripping out, I had planned on reinforcing under the mast and I have bought the hardwood to do this which comes with the catamaran. Electrics were shocking and I hired someone to start this he has ripped out a good few meters of cable and made a start on redoing it, but far from finished.
Headlining is coming down in places. Bedrooms ok but could do with new mattresses. All the wood work outside could do with replacing. The cat needs sanded and painted, top sides and bottom. I have a Main Sail, Genoa, 2 storm jibs and a spinnaker with spinnaker pole, a couple of thousand pounds worth all in good condition, This is a project and will require around 300hrs off work to get it up to a £10,000 - £15,000 catamaran but a worthy project.
It's situated in a Estuary and mooring is £50 a year to keep it there, you can also live onboard whilst working on it. If you join the sailing club around £25 you can get free water. There is a track through a field to a small Village with a Pub, Tea Room, Small Food Store. It's in a very beautifull and peaceful location and the other boat guys are cool and friendly and very helpful. No offers please it is what it is and it's a good deal as is.
Available to view Sunday 7th Monday 8th.
