Engine Make: Yanmar 1 gm
Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
I bought this three years a go and it was a proper wreck.Basically every bit of wood on it had rotted out in some way or other.I had to lift the cabin floor and replace the cross beams, the front bulk heads had gone, floors, cabin door frame etc.I replaced them with iroko wood "they were pine before". There is still along way to go but the a lot of the hard work has been done. I have put in around 500 hours work into it so far. What i have done 1 95% of wood work "see pictures",2 new skylight hatch houdini. £2503 Taylors parafin heater installed.
£4004 Blakes lavac toilet fitted. £4005 Plastimo gas cooker. £250 6 2 Rolls 120 ah batteries fitted. £6007 electric panel boards. £1508 Rutland wind generator.
£150 9 a nice big canvas tarp £25010 new hatches £40011 two new teak benches and cushions £100012 two new mattresses £200 Everything i have used has been marine ply and marine grade stainless, i have used the best epoxy and polyester resin. Ok it has two Yanmar 1 gm engines onboard 1 working 1 possibly working. These including props and brass propellers are with around £3000. I have removed one of the fuel tanks as was going to get them sand blasted and inspected to see condition as they have surface rust. I was thinking of replacing them with stainless steel or cheaper option plastic.
I say one could be working as one was not and i hired someone to come and work on it. He did a compression test and there was none so it was stripped and a new head gasket put on and torqued. The injector was stripped and cleaned. When putting the injector back he thought there was a copper gasket missing. Which there was so it was not tested until i got the gasket and it has not been tested since as i just concentrated on the wood work and interior first.
I also have another Yanmar 1gm engine stripped for spare parts, so you will have every spare part you need if needed or you could rebuild it and get £800. A bare hull will go for a round £4000 and my friend just sold a total wreck for £4500 which was 3 times as bad as this one was. So its on a mooring in North Wales near Harlech, The mooring costs £95 a year, this also gives you a key to the car park, there is a water tap for free water and there is also a place to keep your dingy. Plus your allowed to live onboard. (http://www.lpyc.org.uk/) There is heating which is cheap to run on paraffin, there is a cooker to eat, and a toilet.
10 mins walk away there is 3 pubs, a shop with a post office and a tea room. You can pretty much get everything in the Village, The train station is 5 mins walk away. There is also a leisure centre in Harlech 30 mins walk 5 min drive where you can have a shower a couple of times a week. Porthmadocg is 20 mins drive away and these are two great chandlery shops where you can get everything you will need. You can also catch a train to these places.
I have all the wood to replace front deck in Iroko £650 worth, i also have rubbing strake £300 to go on it. Im not going to sell cheap its worth what its worth and finished with twin diesels they sell for over £20,000 any questions ask. The Catamaran belonged to and Elderly gent called Harry now in his 80s, he was a member of LYPC sailing Club, i believe he still is. I am also a member of the club. So the boat is well known.
I have receipt of purchase and if you want to contact the club and ask any questions about the Catamaran you can. Its been in the Estuary over 10 years and is well known there. There is also another two Twins Catamarans moored next to this one and both guys are really friendly and everybody helps each other out. The catamaran will come with a Main Sail and Genoa. The reason i am selling is i live in Newquay Cornwall.
It is a 15 hour round trip there and back. I have an 18month old girl and a 2 week old girl and my girlfriend has another 3 kids. Its getting a bit much for my girlfriend to handle 5 kids and for me to disappear up to wales a week at a time once a month. I have managed to save up a few grand and if this sells i will be in a position to buy something in Plymouth or Falmouth area where it only takes me 40 mins to get to. Check out the link below to see what the Twins are all about.
