Hello,You are viewing a Marlin 'Freestyle' personal hovercraft made by the previous incarnation of the British Hovercraft Company in Kent; Flying Fish. The Marlin is the best selling hovercraft of this type in Europe for good reasons. They are easy to handle and flamin' good fun! This craft was sold as a kit and this one has been assembled to a good standard. It has a few extras not normally provided such as an electrical fuel pump for reliable fuel feed, a digital voltmeter to check battery charging and a Tiny Tach (total hours meter and tachometer combined). This was bought from the previous owner/builder for use with a company giving commercial rides on grass (football fields, grass strip airfields etc).In these uses the craft has to be as reliable as it physically can be.
This craft has been very well maintained with regular oil changes; much more so than normal time scales/use require. The craft is powered by a Japanese built Vanguard 35bhp 'V' twin fourstroke engine. As it is an unmolested engine it has proved its worth when out giving flights to members of the public. Never missed a beat. It is fitted with the desirable 50mm belt and pulleys too.The wiring has been simplified and tidied and has been fault free.
There was a brand new battery fitted last year and only at the end of last year new blades were fitted in the desire for safety and reliability. There is a kill cord fitted as well to these ends along with a functioning bilge pump and the required yellow flashing beacon. The craft has been flown on water for private use on a couple of occasions and performed well. There is a 'T' seat fitted for a passenger or two (if lightweights as the max load is 200kg) which has been reinforced, with additional flotation added. The craft comes with a purpose made 'launching dolly' (aka 'a trailer') which tows easily and that has a mechanical winch for one person loading the craft back onto the said LD.The skirt is serviceable but showing signs of fading/wear. To that end there are MANY spare segments ready made and a lot of material to sew new ones if required and this is all included in the sale. A segment change is very easy and takes minimal time. The fibreglass hull is in very good condition with the usual few marks here and there, but minimal. The twin rudders have a repair at the rear on one (loading the rudders up with hard turns is an occupational hazard of a ride giving craft as people love to be spun around on the hover at speed; boy racer doughnuts come to mind).
The fitted rudders are functionally fine with the repair but a hardly used set of silver ones to match the bow are included in the sale as these were kept in case of a problem on a days ride-giving. They'll just need fitting. All in all, a very good lil' hover that I myself have put many hours on flying it.Great craft. For sale as business owner is changing careers and he asked me to put up this advert. The craft is actually stored near Tonbridge, Kent and can be collected from there.Payment by cash please. Thanks for viewing and Happy Bidding!
