Lady J is a Hurley 18 yacht built in 1969. She is in good condition for her age with a refurbished interior, including having her cushions reupholstered. Painted white throughout below, she is quite bright and airy for her size. She doesn't have a cooker or head but there's space for both: I used to use a simple single burner camping stove when staying on board. She has a full set of sails from genoa to storm gib and spinnaker.
Her genoa is elderly and needs replacing but the other sails are still useable. The main is in reasonable shape and will last a season or three yet: it reefs round the roller boom. There is a lifting outboard bracket so you can use a short leg outboard rather than a long leg: note that there is no outboard on the boat at the moment and there isn't one in the sale. I used a 2.5hp motor which was ample for moving her off the mooring but if you're going to use her for linger trips, then you might do well to get a 4hp engine. There's a NASA depth sounder but there isn't a battery to power it.
She is not fitted with navigation lights but she's small enough not to require them (you can use a torch to draw attention to your presence). She has a CQR anchor and 15m of chain and another 25m of rope for anchoring and comes with beaching legs so you can use her for creek crawling, taking the ground as the tide falls. She is currently on a half tide mooring at Penpol on Devoran Creek. The berth is paid for until October and will probably be available to the new owner. I can meet anyone who would like to look her over at the berth, however because there's no engine and the berth needs high tide springs to get afloat I can't offer to take the boat out.
Finally, this is an auction. That means if your bid is the winning one, the boat is yours. You aren't bidding to come and have a look at her and decides he isn't what you wanted; you're bidding to buy, so if you've any doubts at all, either come and have a look at her or don't bid! Sorry to be like this but I've had to relist her because of exactly this problem. Payment of a minimum 10% deposit via PayPal on winning the auction, balance either by cash or PayPal when you take over the boat.
I will issue an MCA bill of sale on completion of the sale.
