I'm reluctantly selling 'Dawn Tide' my lovely Hurley Alacrity, 18.6 foot, with mast, boom, rigging, full set of sails, tiller, pull & pushpits, twin axle braked trailer and loads more kit listed below. This is a unique little yacht because I won a competition in sailing today magazine for a £4,500.00 prize from Flexiteek for a new Flexiteek deck for my boat. Normally they do superyachts so they were a little surprised when I turned up with my little 18-foot. They could not spend all the £4500 on decking so I had them replace the rubbing strips as well. This is completely genuine as you can see from the photos.
I also have the original email regarding this prize from Sailing Today Magazine editor, the winner of this auction can have a copy of this. I have worked very hard making her look fab, here is a list of work done.Sanded off old antifoul, and added three coats of new Hemple antifoul.Sanded and repainted top sides with high-quality yacht gloss.Added stylish pinstripe for the water line in navy blue yacht gloss.Sanded and added 4 - 5 layers of yacht varnish on the tiller and all of the internal woodwork. The new Flexiteak deck is so easy to clean so it should last as long as they claim. There is also a set of fenders, a cooker, life jackets, anchor, anchor chain. All the bunk cushions have had brand new removable covers made with zippers so they can be removed and washed. These custom covers cost me £120.00 LOA 18'6"LWL 17'0"Beam 6'11"Draft 1'10"TM 3.1 tonsDisplacement 1450 lbsSail area 150 sq ftNumber of berths 3Headroom 4'0"Ballast 530 lbsKeels Twin bilge The boat is seaworthy and very sound, there are a few little jobs to do like the portlights could be upgraded. One of the sails is a bit grubby although I cleaned them all thoroughly this summer, dried them out and stored them at home in a warm dry house. The cabin and cockpit could do with a coat of paint, a nice job on board for the summer.
Otherwise, she is ready to go. I took out the drain plugs and they will need to be put back in before she goes into the water. The boat is fitted with a stainless steel and wood engine mount that has been re-varnished.Gas tanks, ropes and some bits and bobs in a box that will be useful for long trips. Viewing is welcome, no time wasters please I have had enough dreamers asking for pictures of the rigging etc. It's all there of course.
Viewing by appointment phone. Reson for selling, I am trying to raise funds to promote my novel Frontier Rats so need the money to pay for adds etc. You can buy my book on Amazon and Kindle.
