Introduction to Boating TrainingThis is a one day course designed for those new, or fairly new, to boating. It really will help get you started in boating; and help you avoid the mistakes that others sometimes make. It is not intended to teach you to drive the boat – there are plenty of other courses that do that. Instead we teach you the things that other courses simply don’t teach you. Take this course if you want to learn:The various types of boats – and which might be best for you.The different parts of boats, including a guided tour.Introduction to basic maintenance.Choosing a marina – what to look for.Basics of navigation, including the electronic aids.Introduction to boat safety.Basics of tying up and berthing a boat.Cooking on board.How to buy a boat.Next steps – training and getting a suitable boat.This course takes place on board a 34 foot twin cabin sports cruiser moored in the beautiful north Wales coast, or at Gillingham Marina, or at other boats / locations by arrangement.

You will see things in practice, not just in theory. However, on this course note that we stay moored up. At the end of the curse we can recommend courses to teach you how to sail / drive the boat.
