PLEASE READ THE LISTING IN FULL AS IT PRETTY COMPREHENSIVE Our lovely family sailing yacht is up for sale, she is a 1970’s Islander 23 twin bilge keel sailing yacht, a very capable and comfortable cruiser. She is well kitted out for local coastal and river cruising or longer adventures further offshore. She had a fairly extensive refit last year with works as follows: Full strip back and re paint of the topsides in sky blue, The hull stripped back and new coat of anti foul applied, (Needs a recoat, I will do this once the weather warms up or supply the paint)Deck painted front to back in light grey non skid Cockpit teak floorboard and seats fully stripped back and re varnished, Handrails and companionway hatch re varnished along with the capping rail. New through hull fittings throughout including two deck drains and the toilet inlet and outlets. New deck/ running lights and masthead lights installed New electronic wind gauge and windex.
Brand new full set of running rigging including: Racing dyneema main and jib halyards, Dyneema topping lift, Cruising dyneema mainsheet,polyester 8 plait lazy jack system, original sail bag fitted Braid on braid jib fuel line and new flag halyards. The two kemp sails are in good condition no damage to the UV strip and are dry stored. The general condition is fantastic she is clean, tidy and dry, although as with all boats of this age there are always a few little jobs to do! She has a very simple interior cabin with berths for four, small varnished fold out table and galley area. There is a built in water tank and sink and gas lines run but currently no stove fitted.
Fire extinguisher and blanket included She has a built in VHF (not currently wired up) two dc panels for lighting and pumps. Single house battery, wired up for two batteries with change over switch and a solar power charger fitted to the cabin roof. Up forward is a separate heads/ sail locker with manual flush toilet and fire hatch. The anchor locker has new warp and 30m galvanised chain and a Bruce anchor secured on a bow roller on deck. Varnished bollard on the foredeck.
The cockpit has a garmin chart plotter, New NASA wind speed and depth displays along with a compass. Morse controls for an old engine are still fitted but not connected. Manual bilge pump installed. Two deck lockers for all the gear are located in the seats however these do now need some attention. One is set up as a gas locker.
The well aft houses a mercury 7.7hp outboard which is included with the boat. Two winches for the jib sheets and a stainless main track are also fitted. On the transom is an additional out board bracket along with a horse shoe life buoy and GPS antenna. This is a fantastic little family cruising boat, very enjoyable and easy to sail, great for exploring rivers and shallow waters of the east coast and spending evenings at anchor !
