Junk Rigged Newbridge Venturer with Inboard Diesel Engine. Condition is "Used". I bought this boat over 12 years ago and have carried out a lot of major work on it which is detailed in my blog (search under "junkrigged wordpress") and under "Arona AD182M engine" in Google. When I bought it, it had suffered from neglect and poor maintenance. The sail and cover had to be thrown away, the bilge keels were insecure and the engine and gearbox in a very poor state.
Work so far consists of: both bilge keels removed, threads recut, new keel bolts and Silastik on the hull/keel join. Fibreglass reinforced around bilge keels inside. The engine and gearbox were removed, rebuilt and tested and are back in the boat. It has a new stainless propeller shaft, new propeller bearing and a feathering prop. The cabin windows were removed and the end grain balsa surrounds rebuilt, new windows were bought and fitted, though the small front window has yet to be done.
The interior has been stripped out and needs recovering, all the cushions are there though the material needs replacing. I bought an ex demo junk rig sail complete with running rigging and high performance battens from Sunbird Marine which has never been fitted. There is also a new masthead light as well as new bronze/stainless quarter turn seacocks. It sits on a custom made cradle which in turn sits on a substantial 4 wheeled braked trailer. This is in sound condition but the tyres need replacing due to ageing.
There is also an anchor, chain and various old instruments as well as a sea toilet and a compact Theford cassette toilet if using the boat on inland waterways. The boat has been stored under a large car port for all the time that I've had it so has not suffered from undue weathering. The first two photos were taken on 04/04/2021 after it had been pressure washed. Please note the last 2 photos, showing the boat resting on its bilge keels and the interior were taken when I first bought it. All other photos are as it is now.
If I was keeping the boat I would refix some of the stanchions as they're wobbly before refitting the headlining and interior trim. I would also put in LED lights etc. I'm asking £1,500 for everything I've described which is about half of what it's cost me but realistically I'm not going to complete it. I would strongly advise viewing before contemplating purchase as it's easy to get carried away with how long certain works might take. You could trail it away subject to checking or replacing tyres as the trailer has always been well maintained.
I'm happy for you to get the tyres etc sorted at mine after you've bought it.
