Hi,I am selling my much loved yacht "Little Monkey" which I have owned since 2003, I have had some great sailing in this yacht cruising along the east coast estuary. This is a very simple yacht to sail either single handed or with a small crew. I have installed a lot of electronics that you don't find on many small boats. Including a Garmin GPS-152, Standard Horizon GX1500E VHF radio, with remote mic/speaker for use in the cockpit, USB charging ports, and a 2018 NASA Target depth sounder, The 12v power system is supported by a main battery, that is kept topped up by fixed solar panels attached to sides of the vessel. The battery also supplies internal lighting, and running lights for night sailing, plus I have a volt meter to monitor the battery state.
There is a 8Hp Johnson short/shaft outboard motor included that sits in the well at the stern, and is pivot mounted so that it can be lifted back when sailing, this is fed from a 30ltr portable fuel tank. The yacht comes with a full set of good sails, including a spare main sail, and spare no 2+3s plus a spinnaker (untried). These are sails that I have bought over the years to keep onboard in case of failures. The yacht was in the water last year, and I have just anti-fouled her ready to go back in, but I will keep the yacht on the hard standing for ease of viewing, and in case the buyer wants to transport away. The galley comprises a two burner stove with grill, that is fed from cylinder in the stern that is excellent for making bacon sandwiches, boiling some water for tea, or heating up meals.
There is also a sink, and ample storage space around the cabin, and under the berths. This is a four berth yacht which is separated by a folding door system into two separate rooms, with a central drying closet for wet gear, and a sea toilet. A very surprisingly spacious yacht for her size. She has a cast iron bilge keel that only draws about 1m so you can explore all the little channels, and tributaries and if the tide goes out, then she will settle down nicely till it comes back in. There is also 50ft of anchor chain with a 24" plough anchor that works very well.
The yacht will cruise nicely at around 4-5 knots, she is quite a heavy boat having been made in the early seventies with 12mm thick hull so a very solid little craft. The standing rigging has been replaced once during my ownership, but I can't find the receipt for that so cannot confirm the date. I also replaced the windows with tough laminated glass and new rubber seals. I will be leaving some warps, and fenders too for the lucky new owner. Viewing by appointment is highly recommended, and social distancing can be easily maintained protecting everyone.
The yacht is on the river Crouch close to Hullbridge, and the yard fees if the buyer wants to keep it there are around £600 per annum. In summary this is a very well looked after yacht, that would make a perfect starter boat for someone looking to get into yachting, and who is looking for some very affordable sailing adventure. I have loads more photos, and would be happy to answer any questions. Thanks Glenn email: email: 0phone
