Engine Make: Yamaha
** Re-listing as I've not be able to properly respond to questions, offers, etc due commitments and being away from the boat. Yes, its listed for the 3rd time and maybe lucky after all. To all viewers/watchers your patience is appreciated. The photos have been updated to show most aspects. For sale is my Leisure 17 sailing yacht, named "Tasca" which is Italian for pocket, being a pocket-sized yacht.
She is a small project as has been out of the water for a while and stored on the hard. She does needs a little TLC and rigging check before she can be ready for the new season. Nothing serious. The photos on the water were of when she was launched locally to check for water tightness, etc. Includes main sail, hank-on jib and a colourful spinaker (no pole).
The main sail has its original boom furler. There is an anchor along with chain and rode, fenders and various other boat pieces. The exterior is in pretty good condition considering she is a '70s boat. The hull has no repairs that I'm aware of. The paint work is probably original (one of the classic colours) though has faded a bit.
Repainting her should be easy as you can get to all places whilst on her trailer. On the stern there is a folding engine mount and also a folding swim ladder. The interior has cushioned bunks which are in good condition. Its claimed to be a 4-berther but realistically two can sleep comfortably in a vee-arrangement. There are are some rear bunk cushions (making up the other 2 berths) but if removed, the bunks become great storage areas.
There is the original portable toilet and gas stove. The stove was rarely used as found it more convenient using a portable gas stove (disposable canister-type). There is a gas bottle in the stern locker that would need to replaced. Its the standard butane type. Inside the cabin are are various shelves and cubby holes.
A deep drawer under the cooker is a good place to store cups, etc. I've only slept one night her but she easily converts from a day-sailer to something you spend a few nights on. Included is a Yamaha 2-stroke outboard engine. This hasn't been run for sometime but was winterised/prepared for storage before being put away. When it was in use was a rock-solid easy starter and ran well moving the boat easily.
There is a remote fuel tank which is metal and a bit rusty so maybe a plastic replacement should be considered. She is currently on her trailer (un-braked) which is not currently considered road worthy as has not moved for while. However, the wheel bearings were replaced (and re-greased) sometime ago but was just never tried out. Its strongly suggested (essential) that she is loaded on to a flatbed trailer to be moved safely. She is currently located in the boat park of the Littleton Lake Sailing Club nr Shepperton & Queen Mary reservoir.
The boat will have to be moved within a few days once sold. Please consider that as important *must do* before bidding/offering. A number of past questions asked about work to do: - General cleanup to make her shine. - The exterior woodwork (handrails, tiller arm, rubbing strakes, cockpit door) require re-varnishing. - The rigging needs checking and maybe some pieces replaced.
- The outboard needs a service at least - The trailer as mentioned needs attention if planning to tow her places. - Finish off wiring up the lights (running and interior), install a battery (not an essential job) - Anti-foul the hull. For the eagle-eyed, you'll notice the price has returned to the original level when first listed. Having just visited her and had a thorough check of exterior/interior, she present a lot of boat for what a high-end tablet or mobile would cost. Leisures have a great reputation for sturdy-ness and ease of sail.
Joining the Leisure Association is worth considering, its very active and you can get some great advice. Its hoped that Tasca will be taken on by someone that can get her looking pretty again and stretch her legs and cross some water. Just to be clear, there is no postage or delivery of this. Buyer must arrange collection. As stated above, this will need a trailer or similar to move her.
Please *please* consider this seriously. The boat and all included items are totally SOLD AS SEEN. There is absolutely no warranty or return possible (not meaning to sound stern but have had issues on a previous sale). Viewing could be arranged, please message me. Payment of 50% of sale fee to be paid by PayPal within 24/36hrs.
