Leisure 23SL Sailing Yacht

Avanti is a Leisure 23SL bilge keel yacht. She was launched in 1980 and has been well maintained and updated since then. She has an excellent 8hp Yamaha “bigfoot” outboard which is consistently reliable. It can be easily raised and lowered on a custom stainless steel rig which also allows steering from the outboard itself making marinas an easier prospect. Avanti’s mainsail was made by Gowan Ocean in 2010, so still crisp and protected by a navy sail cover.

All lines apart from reefing lines are led back to the cockpit. Avanti has been fitted out for simplicity and ease of ownership. She has a chemical loo which makes her much more suitable for cruising the estuaries and rivers of the east coast. She has a portable cooking stove and a sink for doing the dishes. The sink has the only seacock on the boat and consequently she is a very dry boat.

Avanti will comfortably sleep a family of four, we have made a simple canopy to extend space over the cockpit when sleeping with that many on board. Avanti is fitted with GPS, a DSC marine radio, depth and log. She is sold with fenders and warps and boat hook. A yard trailer is included in the asking price. Avanti was sailed for the 2016 season and can be viewed in Heybridge, Essex.
