Decommissioned lifeboat from an offshore oil rig This boat has been sat on a rig for around 18 years and has been unused so although the fibreglass has faded in colour the boat itself has not been used in the water and is in good condition inside, the engine is a 70 bhp Mitsubishi diesel that runs fine and all the electrics and steering work as they should, the boat is 10.15m or 33 ft long and 3m wide or 9.8 ft inside width. The boat is stored in a yard in Aberdeen if any viewings are required, I myself have been up to see the boat when I bought it and was planning to convert to a house boat live aboard due to its great size inside and the fact that it is fully insulated and one of the strongest boats on the water, these things can drop off an oil rig from a height of 200 feet with 41 people inside. U can imagine how strong they are being able to do that, also they are self righting meaning if it tips upside down it will spin back over on its hull, therefore this is the perfect boat for a live aboard or house boat, the only reason I am selling it is I am now full time working offshore away and just have not got the time or space to complete the conversion. When these boats were made brand new they cost the oil companies around £300,000 as the hull is 25mm thick fiberglass to withstand the roughest seas and all fixtures and fittings are top quality materials. Please note that the 3rd photo is of another similar lifeboat converted but a smaller version and is for illustration purposes and to give you an idea of what it could look like, also the second photo is of another one that has been cleaned up on the outside, my son thought it looked like a T-rex dinosaur and wanted me to paint it like the 9th photo again just for ideas, to give you estimated resale value on these boats there is one for sale called skyfall and the owners is asking £30,000 converted in to a house boat.
The price I am asking is £4950 and this includes delivery to any ware in the UK, this is a very good price and you get a lot for your money so I wont be dropping any off the asking price. The weight of the boat is 9500kg so will need to be delivered to a marina or yard where there is a crane available to lift it off the wagon. There may be storage available where it is now but you would have to speak to the guy who owns the yard. Also there is 40 seats in the boat that could be resold for as racing bucket seats for racing, go karts, or buggies etc as they are solid fiber glass and have full harnesses. If you need anymore information about the boat please message me on classifieds board, Thanks for looking.
